At 7:01hrs this date, Union Fire Company Engine 131 was dispatched with the Coal Township Fire Department to 100 Industrial Park Rd for a commercial fire alarm, on the 150 box.

It was quickly reported to be a false alarm. Box was in service for 10min

🚒 Station readiness is always “ALL HANDS.” 🚒

It’s easy to think readiness is just about having a truck in the bay and gear hanging on the rack.

It’s not.

It’s the person checking the rig.
The person restocking equipment.
The person cleaning the station.
The person training.
The person fixing what needs fixed.
The person making sure the next crew has what they need.
And the person who simply shows up and says, “What needs done?”

Because when the tones drop, there’s no time to wonder if we’re ready.

Different people. Different jobs. Same mission.

We may not all wear the same helmet every day, but every hand plays a part in getting that apparatus out the door and bringing our people home.

Station readiness isn’t one person’s responsibility.

At 2:16 this date, Union Fire Company Engine 131 was dispatched with Engine 111 and Rescue 193 to Geisinger - Shamokin Hospital for a Commercial Fire Alarm. Secondary information indicated alarm on the 4th floor.

Chief 102 took command and held apparatus until he investigated - and subsequently put the box on service calling it a false activation.
