This afternoon at approximately 1:45 PM, Westwood EMS was dispatched with the East Brandywine Fire Company to the 500 block of Reeceville Road in West Brandywine Township for an auto accident with entrapment.

Responding units arrived to find a vehicle overturned and resting on its roof in a residential driveway, with one occupant trapped inside. Rescue crews stabilized the vehicle and worked closely with our medical professionals to determine the safest and most efficient method of removing the driver. Once extricated, the patient was transferred to our ambulance with paramedics and transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Since midnight this marked the 15th call of the day for our responders.

Excellent work by all personnel involved in today’s responses.

Congratulations to Dave Reynolds — our neighboring Assistant Chief at Sadsburyville Fire Company No. 1 — on achieving the tremendous milestone of 45 years of dedicated volunteer service to our region!

While we have been fortunate to work alongside Chief Reynolds for many years in the fire service, we are even more fortunate to now call him part of our family!

Following a long and distinguished career as a Paramedic with Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Brandywine Hospital’s former Medic 93, and Sky FlightCare, Dave joined our Paramedic team just over a year ago. His extensive clinical knowledge, experience, skills, and talents have been a tremendous addition to our team and another great benefit to the communities we proudly serve.

During tonight’s regular monthly meeting of the Sadsburyville Fire Company, members gathered to recognize Assistant Chief Dave Reynolds for an incredible milestone. The milestone was 45 years of dedicated service to the fire service and to our community.

Dave began his journey at just 15 years old with the Sadsburyville Fire Company, following the path set by his father, Claude “Buzz” Reynolds. What started as a young man’s inspiration quickly became a lifelong calling. Over the decades, Dave has served as a senior firefighter, a chief officer, and spent more than twenty years as President of the SFC. His leadership, commitment, and steady presence have shaped generations of firefighters.

Beyond the firehouse, Dave built a 35+ year career as a paramedic at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and now back in Chester County as he continues serving today with the Westwood Fire Company, our area paramedic service provider. His dedication to helping others has never wavered.

Dave’s legacy extends to his family as well. His son, Tyler Reynolds, proudly carries on the tradition as a third‑generation firefighter with Sadsburyville and his second son Ryan Reynolds, who filled out an application to be a junior member tonight. This is a testament to the impact Dave has made both at home and in the community.

Known for his humor, his storytelling, and his unmatched ability to show up when the work is toughest, Dave has long been one of the strongest supporters of the Sadsburyville Fire Company. His commitment and advocacy have played a major role in keeping our organization strong and moving forward.

Tonight, we were honored to celebrate Dave’s 45 years of service, leadership, and loyalty. We thank Dave, and his family, for the sacrifices, dedication, and heart they have given to this community.
