The Veterans Response Team (VRT) is a peer-to-peer support program in which VA works with local police departments and the National Alliance on Mental Illness to train police officers, who are Veterans themselves, on how best to respond to Veterans in crisis. Last week, staff from across VISN 4 participated in training on how to start and complement our existing VRT programs in Delaware, Southern New Jersey, and Montgomery County, Pa.
