Good afternoon. As of now, all power has been restored to all PECO customers in West Caln Township. If you have any issues, you should contact PECO directly at (800) 841-4141 and report the problem, as they have no record of any outages in the township. At the peak of the outages, 99.7% (3594 homes and businesses) in the township were without power.
All roads in the township are open and passable except for the 200 block of Hill Road, where an Xfinity/Comcast line is still in the street. Xfinity has been contacted, and the issue was reported, but they have yet to provide a response time. During the upcoming week, intermittent road or lane closures may occur as our Public Works Department finishes clearing debris. Should you encounter any of these locations, please respect the road closes signs, and if it is a lane restriction, use extra caution when passing through.
Any West Caln resident having structural or other property damage related to the Tuesday evening storm that is NOT just trees down is asked to email your contact information to [email protected], and someone from Emergency Management will contact you. During this event, West Caln Township issued a Disaster Declaration, that is still in effect, along with several other municipalities in Chester County. Should Chester County reach a specific damage total, assistance will be requested from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. If you are unsure if your damage fits the reporting criteria, please email your contact information, and we will contact you as quickly as possible.
Our township agencies, in collaboration with utility companies and other contractors, have done an outstanding job over the past several days. Their efforts have led to the successful restoration of power and the opening of roadways. We've received positive feedback from utility contractors, some of whom came from as far away as South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama. They spoke of the warm reception they received from most of the residents as they worked tirelessly to restore the area to pre-storm conditions.
We want to express our sincere gratitude for everyone's cooperation during the past few days along with the many outside agencies that responded. Your resilience and support have been invaluable in the face of what is becoming a more frequent occurrence of damage and utility interruption.
