It's time! “Read Across CHESCO” begins today, September 3rd! Kick off your journey with us at one of our 18 library locations in Chester County. Get your CCLS Passport and your first PA adventure critter sticker and then adventure to different libraries across Chester County completing a one-question activity, earning additional stickers in the collection, and eventually getting your snazzy CHESCO landmarks book tote bag once you have completed the whole adventure! The August guessing jar was the most challenging one yet! A jar of buttons! There were 2,008 total buttons. We had two friends each guess 2,000 and Aubrey and Serenity will both get a call about picking up their prizes next week, after the holiday weekend. Come guess the Back to School jar filled with crayons, pencils, markers, colored pencils, and candy!

Library Card Sign-Up Month is almost here and we hope you'll come to journey with us as we “Read Across CHESCO" and learn about the different services and resources the 18 libraries in Chester County have to offer. “Read Across CHESCO” will begin September 3rd!

Last week we were honored to participate in the Coatesville Youth Initiative Graduation for our two amazing summer interns Mileeah and Brett. They were a joy to have around the library, and are already missed. We are proud to have been a stop on their journey to become great leaders.

Help us raise funds to repair our damaged Kid's Zone and program rooms after the flood. For a $5 donation to the library you receive one Boscov's Pass to their Friends Helping Freinds shopping event on October 22nd, 2024. Each pass grants you 25% off regular and sale merchandise in store or online! This is a great way to support your community, and get some great fall discounts before the winter holidays.

Ask at the Circulation Desk from now through October to purchase a pass.

Nora was our guessing jar winner from July—the jar held 88 toys and candies and she guessed 89! This month’s guessing jar is full of buttons—hundreds and hundreds of them. Children under 18, come to guess the button jar until the end of August!

The Summer Reading Vine at the Coatesville Library is growing! Each leaf represents a day of reading by children in our community! Remember to bring your summer reading folders to the library for stickers, Buddy Bucks, and leaves to add to our vine!!

SUMMER STORE—come and spend those blue buddy bucks! Each little ticket is like one dollar at the summer store. The store is open July 18-July 20, from 10-2 each day. There will be another store in August, if you can’t make it to this one!!
