Cocoa Beach Police patrol vehicles are now equipped with sensory bags to provide support to individuals who may experience sensory sensitivities during police interactions.

Our Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our valued community partners, Dixie Kuehn and Lynne Mills, co-owners of Third Wave Benefits, for their generous donation of sensory bags.

We also thank Responding 2 Autism, who donated Kits for officers that also support this initiative! Community Partnerships like these help us to serve our Community!

CBPD had a great time supporting Roosevelt Elementary this morning for National Walk & Roll to School Day!

This annual campaign encourages students, families to walk, bike, or roll to school while promoting healthy habits, safety, and community connection.

We loved being part of the morning and helping Roosevelt students start their school day with smiles!

Our officers will be out this morning assisting the students, parents and teachers get to school safely. Wave hello when you see us!

This Wednesday, October 7th is National Walk to School Day. Students are welcome to meet at The Tiny Turtle. We will begin our walk at 7:15am to ensure our arrival to school on time. The walk is about a mile long as we would will walk up Minutemen Causeway.

Additionally, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are encouraging all students, staff, and families to wear pink on October 7th.

A big thank-you to the owners of Juice ‘N Java Cafe for bringing their mobile coffee cart to the PD and for treating our officers and civilian staff to some much-appreciated coffee! ☕️

Coffee has a way of making a busy day a little brighter, and your generosity and kindness certainly did just that. We’re grateful for your support of our team and our community!

TRAINING EXERCISE – COMMUNITY NOTICE

The Cocoa Beach Police Department, along with our public safety partners, will be conducting a training exercise today from 12:00 PM until approximately 5:00 PM at the Resort on Cocoa Beach, 1600 N. Atlantic Avenue.

Training activities will take place inside the building and throughout the parking lot. During this time, you may notice a significant presence of police and fire department personnel and emergency vehicles. Please avoid the Resort on Cocoa Beach parking lot during the exercise.

There is no emergency or threat to the public. The increased public safety presence is part of a planned training exercise.

WELCOME TO CBPD!

Please join us in congratulating Mary Fuentes and Ivan Grammar, who were officially sworn in today as the newest Police Officers with the CBPD!

Mary and Ivan recently completed 770 hours of law enforcement academy training and are now working through CBPD’s orientation process. Before long, you’ll see them out and about throughout Cocoa Beach as they begin their Field Training Program.

Congratulations, Officer Fuentes and Officer Grammar! We're excited to welcome them to the CBPD family and wish them both a safe and successful career serving our community!

UPDATE: ALL LANES AT THIS INTERSECTION ARE BACK OPEN IN ALL DIRECTIONS. The rain remains so please proceed with caution today.

TRAFFIC ALERT

CBPD officers are currently on scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 4th Street South and South Orlando Avenue. The crash resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

The left lane will remain temporarily closed while crews wait for the vehicles to be removed. The right lane remains open, and traffic is currently moving without significant delays. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and use caution when traveling through the intersection.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We will provide an update once both lanes are fully reopened.

2026 COCOA BEACH HOMECOMING

The Cocoa Beach High School Homecoming Parade is another great reminder of what makes our community so special! Every person plays an important part in making Cocoa Beach the special place we all call home.

Every year the Cocoa Beach Police Department and Cocoa Beach Fire Department are proud to support our students along the parade route, helping keep the celebration safe and fun for everyone. 🚓🚒

Tonight, Cocoa Beach takes on the St. Edward’s Pirates. Good luck tonight, GO MINUTEMEN! 🏈
