The Millage renewal helps fund paraprofessionals in schools across Brevard Public Schools. This is not a new tax.

At Roosevelt, paraprofessional Ms. Fisher works directly with students to provide support, build positive relationships, and help them succeed in the classroom.

Paraprofessionals work alongside teachers to provide individualized assistance, reinforce classroom instruction, and help meet students' unique needs. Their support helps students stay engaged, build confidence, and make meaningful progress throughout the school year.

Millage funding helps schools provide the support students need to reach their full potential.

Surtax funding strengthens school security by providing the physical security tools our campuses rely on each day. This is not a new tax.

At Roosevelt, surtax funding supports security enhancements including secure single-point entry, upgraded locks and gates, reinforced front office safety features, expanded security camera coverage, and modern emergency alert systems.

The Sales Surtax renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax helps ensure schools can continue enhancing these protective measures and strengthening campus security to create an environment where students and staff can focus on learning and teaching.

October is National Principal Appreciation Month. Our staff came together to celebrate Mrs. Trosset with a potluck lunch. Thank you to the Roosevelt Elementary PTO of Cocoa Beach and SignGypsies Brevard for providing a special sign. Thank you to The Tiny Turtle for providing a meal earlier in the week. Finally, thank you to the students and classrooms for making her cards.

The Millage renewal invests directly in the educators who serve Brevard students every day. This is not a new tax.

80% of Millage funding supports employee compensation, including additional pay for instructional personnel based on their years of teaching experience and performance.

At Roosevelt, Mrs. Shelton is in her 9th year as a teacher. She is dedicated to providing the best education possible for her students and our school community is fortunate to have her as part of the team. Her experience helps provide students with strong instruction, consistency, and support year after year.

By recognizing the value of experience, Millage-funded compensation increases over time to reward educators for their years of service and dedication to their profession. This investment encourages experienced teachers to continue building their careers in Brevard Public Schools, benefiting both students and school communities.

The Sales Surtax renewal is paid for by everyone who shops in Brevard and funds major improvements to our school facilities. This is not a new tax.

Sales Surtax funding allows Brevard Public Schools to complete essential projects that keep campuses safe, comfortable, and ready to serve students for years to come.

At Roosevelt, Sales Surtax funding made our brand new basketball floor possible. Students utilize the gym on a daily basis.

From updated air-conditioning systems and new roofs to renovated classrooms, playgrounds, tracks, and safety improvements, these investments help ensure our school buildings continue meeting the needs of students and staff.
