EXPANSION AND RENOVATION OF CRUISE TERMINAL 10 GETS UNDERWAY: Construction has begun on another cruise terminal expansion project at Port Canaveral. The $95 million expansion and renovation of Cruise Terminal 10 is scheduled to be completed by November 2027 to accommodate some of the cruise industry’s largest ships. The reimagined facility will feature spacious, modern interiors, colorful artwork, a striking glass façade that will introduce more natural light and other design elements that will create a welcoming environment for cruise guests. Expanded security screening and luggage areas, new elevators/escalators, updated signage and HVAC systems are being added, as well.

“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned about cruise operations to create a terminal that is highly functional and visually beautiful,” said Captain John W. Murray, Port Canaveral CEO. “Our cruise business investments are highly focused on ensuring that guest arrivals and departures are comfortable, efficient, and above all, support the high quality experience we provide for our cruise partners and their guests.”

HAPPY 236TH BIRTHDAY, USCG: The United States Coast Guard traces its founding to August 4, 1790, when Congress authorized Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton to establish the Revenue Cutter Service with a fleet of 10 cutters that enforced customs laws, protected American commerce, and combated smuggling. In 1915, the Revenue Cutter Service merged with the U.S. Life-Saving Service to form the modern Coast Guard, creating a military service dedicated to maritime safety, security, and national defense. On the USCG’s 236th birthday, we salute the men and women of the oldest continuous seagoing service in the United States. Thank you for your service!

LOTS OF LUMBER: The MV Saga Odyssey recently made one of the Port’s largest forest product deliveries to date, offloading 55,000 cubic meters of lumber at the newly rebuilt North Cargo Berth 4. Port Canaveral continues to serve as a primary gateway for European forest products, driving construction and economic growth across Central Florida. Big thanks to our partners at Enstructure Canaveral for their expert stevedoring work on this impressive operation!

A ‘GREEN’ GROUP PROJECT: Port Canaveral’s summer interns got together for an environmentally themed group project, affixing markers at dozens of sewer drains across the Port with messaging that reads “No Dumping/Drains to Ocean” and “Be the Solution/To Storm Water Pollution” along with a QR code linking to the Port’s environmental stewardship homepage. The hard-working young professionals are shown here affixing the markers at restaurants near The Cove, all part of a port-wide effort to encourage responsible environmental practices. Nicely done, summer interns!
