Happy World Sea Turtle Day!
Today we're celebrating some of Cocoa Beach's longest residents.

While many of us are enjoying the beach this summer, sea turtles are hard at work nesting along our shoreline.

A few simple actions help protect sea turtles and their hatchlings as they make their journey to the ocean:

🌙 Turning off beachfront lights at night
🚯 Taking all trash with you
🏖️ Filling in holes and knocking down sandcastles before you leave
📍 Giving marked nests plenty of space

Every small action helps make our beach a little safer for the next generation of hatchlings.

TRAINING EXERCISE NOTICE
On Friday evening, crews from the Cocoa Beach Police Department, Cocoa Beach Fire Department, Brevard County Ocean Rescue Lifeguards, and Health First will be conducting a joint training exercise at Lori Wilson Park.
During the exercise, residents and visitors may notice a significant public safety presence in the area, including emergency vehicles, personnel, and the Health First First Flight helicopter.

THIS IS ONLY A TRAINING DRILL.
There is no emergency, and no action is required from the public. These exercises help ensure our first responders remain prepared and coordinated when responding to real-world emergencies.
Thank you for your understanding as our public safety partners continue training to keep our community safe.
