hTHANK YOU FORTALEZA; ON MY WAY, MACAPA

Hi all,

I’m leaving Fortaleza after two amazing days…these pictures are from Urussanga…as the visit unfolds, I can confirm trying to see so many friends and visit so many different places is extremely challenging physically, even more mentally. I love a challenge…it is fun and the sense of accomplishment drives me to do more…anybody can do something…can you enjoy it, make it the most fun thing in the world as you are doing it…100% mental…so many hours are spent traveling, so few time at each destination…trying to cram as much as possible in a very short time…a continuous cycle of travel to airports, (often long drives); waiting in airports; all flights with connections; waiting for bags; trips to a new city, (often long drives); visiting schools…always the best part...is limited because of such short time at each destination…only one day…just one…34 times…it’s going great but extremely full days.

The time in Fortaleza was simply amazing in every way…last year I met amazing sisters, Bia and Yasmin…with their mom and dad...they are part of a rocket club of truly amazing kids. They asked me if I wanted to stay at a hotel or their home…I always enjoy spending time with families as it gives me a chance to get to know the parents and them to know me…I was only there 2 days, one day was Saturday, one of only 2 days on this entire visit that I was not traveling of at schools. The time there with the girls and them was so very special…I am shown so much kindness by so many friends…there really is no way to describe it…we had such an amazing time…visiting 2 schools on Friday after a late night flight, getting to sleep around 2am on Friday morning…despite all the crazy travel, the time at the schools was excellent although many IT issues at the first one

OLA BRAZIL, ON MY WAY…
Hi all,
After midnight…, trying to finish so much correspondence and finish so many loose ends before I leave in the morning to the airport…I’ll be gone 33 days…last year when I was heading to Brazil at this time I was fighting a very serious knee injury…I really could not walk but I went and it turned out amazing…each day I got a little better…it was really awesome…I’ve had that knee replaced, getting around very good, this will be a real test as the schedule is crazy full…each day is an adventure…the challenge is to enjoy them all, equally…
While Norway launched my speaking career, Brazil blasted me into so many amazing opportunities…I was going to Brazil 3 times a year and involved in so many different venues, all giving me international exposure and opening so many doors…I know this visit will be amazing because I have so many very good friends throughout the country…
I still have to pack…75% of what I take are gifts for the schools and for kids…I love giving gifts…especially if it has NASA on it…it makes the kids feel so special…

SEE YOU SOON...DUBAI, PAKISTAN, & NEPAL
hi all,
I'm at the airport in Orlando on my way to Dubai, Pakistan (Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad). then to Nepal...the original purpose for this visit was to go to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh , then Pakistan was added because of the Visa issue in November...then severe flooding in Sri Lanka caused cancellation, Bangladesh has some issues....

Hi all,

Still in India, all efforts to get the Visa to Pakistan have not been successful…if I do not get it tomorrow, it will be too late and I will head back to the US from India…the time in India is always awesome…I have so many wonderful friends so we are staying active…it is mainly that I have so much invested and we had so many events planned…also have wonderful friends in Pakistan I was hoping to see…I pay all the travel expenses… flights to Pakistan as well as return from Pakistan to the US will have to be changed and cancelled…the charges for this are excessive so it adds to out of pocket expenses…this is life…we have to stay positive and always be thankful…

My knee is actually doing very well but I am fighting an infection…any infection that spreads through the body is critical and potentially very dangerous, if it get to my knee…to the point I might have to have the knee replacement remove and another replacement…as well as becoming very sick…so this is a major factor…I’ve been to 2 doctors in India, they are great but with continued travel, long, long hours, little sleep…it is definitely something to not take lightly….I have one more chance, tomorrow, Monday, if I get the Visa, I will get the next flight to Pakistan, if not, I will continue to go to events in India and head back to the US the end of this week.

Hi all,

I’m in India, I arrived 12 days ago after being up for almost 50 hours…it’s a huge challenge to function after being awake so long… this is part of very long international travel when leaving early in the morning…this is my 5th visit to India…each has been amazing…I am so thankful to Niki, Jay all my friends at SSERD in Bangalore who do so much to support the visits…to Sanjay, PD, Chanchal, and everyone in Delhi…today I am supposed to be leaving for Pakistan but I have not received my Visa…it has created many challenges because itinerates are set, flights are paid, and so many things have to be altered…I am in limbo, staying in India, trying to visit more schools here waiting to see if/when it might be approved…also a terrorist attack in Delhi yesterday, killing and injuring many…so sad, so senseless…and it is always the poor/innoent who suffer most…
