B-shift, led by Lt. Ackerman had a quick knock down of an apartment fire.
New construction such as steel frame doors and hurricane windows can pose added obstacles to entry and ventilation, but due to the training of our firefighters, no other units were affected.
As a reminder, smoke detectors save lives and are vitally important to alerting everyone to danger!

Huge Congratulations to Lt Russell "Rusty" Sengle. He is retiring after 30 years with the City of Cocoa Fire Department.
Rusty has always served the citizens, the visitors, and the city with professionalism and integrity! The legacy Rusty leaves are some large boots to fill!

The Union of Cocoa Firefighters want to remind you that we are again giving away Turkey Dinners to City residents in need!

It's turkey pick up day! Be sure to pick up your turkey meals between 1-5pm at Fire Station 1- 1740 Dixon Blvd.
We still have extra meals, so if you didn't have a chance to sign up yet, be sure to come early in the afternoon to get your turkey meal!

2022 Annual Union Cocoa Firefighters Thanksgiving Dinner sign ups start today. There are 2 options for signing up. You can sign up Online at the QR code. The 2nd option is coming to Station One @ 1740 Dixon Blvd and signing up there. You must be a resident in the city to sign up. Thank you!!

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of one of our recetly retired fireman's wives. Jill was an amazing woman, wife, mother and grandmother who sacrificed along with so many spouses, which allowed Ryan Barton to have a full career at Cocoa Fire.

Engine 31 responded to a person shot at the Village Green Apartments across from Station 1. Firefighters were inside the bay at Station 1 when shots rang out. Firefighters had to quickly shut the bay doors as shots were fired until the Cocoa Police Department made the area safe. Engine 31 is currently treating a trauma alert gunshot victim who will be flown to a local trauma center
