Congratulations to Captain Garzon on his promotion to the rank of Division Chief. He has been with us for nearly five years. He has been with us since our formation in 2021.

We enjoyed the fine folks from the Movement Taekwondo Center’s tour of Fire Station 94 this morning in North Creek. They went into a rescue truck, got to know the capabilities of one of our engines, and felt the power of a fire hose in action. Check the photos for highlights.

Water rescues are among the most challenging endeavors firefighters face. We’ve been busy this week practicing those rescues. They have swim tests, rehearse pulling people back to shore, and show they can tread water for at least five minutes. Thanks to our friends and community partners at the Township Community Master Association for allowing us to train in their pool.

Rough morning in South Creek after a home in the 900 block of Palmetto Drive caught fire. Here is the information we have shared with the media so far:

Date: 7/20/26

Time: 4:14 a.m.

Location: 900 block of Palmetto Drive

Confirmed facts at this time: House fire. One person, an adult man, transported to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Unfortunately, 7 cats died in the fire. A dog did make it out. Home heavily damaged, displacing the family that lived there. We’re told that they will be staying with other family members. Cause is under investigation.

It's become quite the tradition, our Recruit Walk.

It's when we take our newest firefighters and some of our veterans join them for a walk from one station to another. Last Saturday morning, it was from Station 50 to Station 113, about four miles.

We carry our agency flag and Ole Glory.

We also carry the promises of service, teamwork, and professionalism.

It's not just a walk. It's a movement. It's an introduction to who we are and where we are going.

We had several folks volunteer this morning at our friends and community partners, Food For The Poor! It was part of the nonprofit’s continuing relief efforts for earthquake victims in Venezuela. Fire Administration Specialist LaRosa (front,left) has family there that were directly impacted by the quake.

2:14 pm update: The intersection at Lyons and Creek Parkway has reopened. Full access has returned to Creek Plaza.

1:21 pm update: gas leak is contained. Lyons Road northbound from Creek Parkway is open. But that’s it. All other lanes at this intersection remain closed as fire crews demobilize.

Original post: A gas leak at the corner of Lyons Road and Coconut Creek Parkway has shut down this intersection. As a precaution, access to Creek Plaza is not being permitted at this time. Traffic flow is being impacted. It’s probably best to seek an alternate route. Stay tuned for updates.
