Attention Septage Waste Haulers:

As you know, over the past several months, Park County, Wyoming has been working with the City of Cody in improving their septage waste receiving infrastructure while simultaneously transitioning away from the County's aging sewage ponds located on West Rocky Road. The new City septage facility (101 Cooper Lane) is now complete and will be open for business on September 15, 2026. With this in mind, the County sewer lagoons will be closed and will discontinue receiving septage loads on September 15, 2026.

If you have not done so already, we encourage you to contact James Keenan with the City of Cody (307-587-2958) as soon as possible to set up an account and to receive the proper operator training/orientation for the new septage waste receiving facility. The new facility is equipped with a card lock system so operators will need to be issued a card to access and use the new facility. Cards will not be issued by the City until operators receive the appropriate training/orientation. Assuming you intend to use the new City facility for septage waste disposal, it is important that your operators have the new access cards as soon as possible as the County facility will be closed with locks changed on September 15, 2026.

We value your business over the past several years and appreciate your cooperation during the transition to the new City facility. Please call Travis Ball with any questions at (307) 527-1818.

Thank You!

This was the situation this morning at Boulder Creek on Hunter Creek Road with the opening under the bridge completely blocked. Nice work Paul Luthy, Tom (Gator) Hiltz, Kenny Greene, and Scott Beecher in digging this out. Water is now flowing where it is supposed to under the bridge. The bridge is now open for local traffic only. Hopefully the weather will cooperate the next few days so everything stays in place. We appreciate everyone's patience as several local residents were cutoff since yesterday while the crew worked to get the road open.

Bridge EGR over Boulder Creek on County Road YXD (Hunter Creek Road) is now open to local traffic only. We are asking motorists to be cautious of the surroundings with additional rainfall likely with the possibility of more flooding over the next few days. As we saw yesterday and last night, conditions can change very quickly in the Boulder Creek Drainage Basin. Travel at your own risk. Vehicles shall be limited to light duty passenger cars and pickups. Pickups and loaded horse trailer combinations may also use the bridge. The maximum vehicle gross weight for emergency vehicles shall be 36 tons. Please contact the Park County Public Works Department with any questions.

The narrow wooden bridge over Boulder Creek on County Road YXD (Hunter Creek Road) is closed until further notice due to flooding. Once the water levels recede the engineers will evaluate the structural integrity of the bridge in the morning. The bridge deck, supports and abutmenrs were pounded for several hours by raging flood water, large boulders, and debris late Wednesday afternoon. At this time the condition of the bridge is in question. We recognize that this is the only way in and out for several people that live on Hunter Creek Road. We will be working with local officials to get the road opened back up as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.
