The Cody Police Department is aware of a recent police investigation into a Fatal Incident Following a Bar Altercation in Lander, WY, that resulted in the arrest of three individuals with the last name Dollard, including one named Justin Dollard.

To avoid any confusion, we want to clearly state that the individuals arrested are NOT Officer Justin Dollard with the Cody Police Department, nor are they related to him in any way.

We appreciate the public’s attention to accuracy and ask that misinformation not be shared. Any questions regarding the investigation should be directed to the appropriate agency in Lander.

With the school year fast approaching, sharing milestone photos of your children online can be a fun way to connect with loved ones near and far. However, as the School Resource Officer for Park 6 School District, I would like to encourage parents and guardians to be cautious about the personal information you disclose about your kids on the internet. Leave out full names, grades, teacher names, and school names – this information can be used by scammers and predators. To protect your children, scale back on the amount of information you share, no matter your friend list or privacy settings. Wishing everyone a safe and happy start to the school year!

I assisted with Cody Middle School's Hunter Education Field Day this past Friday, which provided students with hands-on experience at firearm handling stations and instruction on safe fi****ms handling practices. The Hunter Education Course covers essential topics such as hunter responsibility and ethics, wildlife conservation and management, and fi****ms and firearm safety. What an awesome group of young people and instructors!

“It’s the biggest threat to our future generations.” – Officer Justin Dollard, SRO with Park 6 School District

During a recent conversation with Health Park County, Officer Dollard didn’t hold back when discussing the dangers of screen time and phone use among our youth. While substances remain a concern, he believes the most pressing threat facing our kids today is the impact of constant connectivity, social media, and screen addiction.

This isn't just a hunch—it's a growing concern backed by powerful stories and heartbreaking realities.

We encourage everyone in our community to take the time to watch this eye-opening documentary:

🎥 Can’t Look Away
https://youtu.be/kSmyNHKMYB4?si=er-JfDOZ46lRW74R

This gripping film dives into the dark side of social media, following the families affected by its devastating consequences and the legal fight to hold tech companies accountable.

💔 It’s a wake-up call.
📣 It’s a call to action.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 And it’s a reminder that we must be vigilant in protecting the mental and emotional health of our youth.

Thank you, Officer Dollard and Healthy Park County, for continuing to bring awareness to the challenges facing our kids and helping us build a safer, healthier future together. 💙
