Do you remember when we helped our friends and local band Buffalo Speedway release their song, “I’ll stand”?

We’re happy to share that Buffalo Speedway will be performing “I’ll Stand” live on stage during our 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026. The ceremony starts at 11:00 a.m. inside the Silver Lake Mall in Coeur d’Alene.

“I’ll Stand” is more than just a song. It was created as a message of support, gratitude, and solidarity for first responders, military members, veterans, and the families who stand behind them. Having Buffalo Speedway perform this song during our 9/11 Memorial Ceremony is especially meaningful as we come together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of those who answered the call that day and in the years that followed.

Join us as we gather as a community to remember, honor, and never forget.

September 11th Memorial
At The Silver Lake Mall and Black Sheep Sporting Goods

Kootenai County, ID — The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Black Sheep Sporting Goods and the Silver Lake Mall, will host a September 11 Memorial Ceremony on September 11, 2026, at the Silver Lake Mall in Coeur d’Alene.

This free community event is open to everyone and will provide an opportunity for citizens, first responders, members of the military, law enforcement, and community leaders to come together in remembrance of the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is honored to welcome our local Gold Star Families who will be in attendance and recognized during the ceremony. These families carry the enduring legacy of loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their presence serves as a powerful reminder of the personal cost of service and the importance of continuing to honor and remember those who gave their lives for others.

The ceremony will honor the citizens who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as the brave men and women who responded and served in the aftermath of the attacks. We will also recognize the sacrifices made by service members, first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and others who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving our communities and our nation.

As part of the day's program, Buffalo Speedway will perform live on stage, helping bring our community together through music as we remember and honor those whose lives were forever changed by the events of September 11. Those attending in uniformed service are encouraged to dress appropriately for this solemn occasion.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere appreciation to Black Sheep Sporting Goods, the Silver Lake Mall, Buffalo Speedway, and the citizens of Kootenai County for their continued support and for helping bring our community together to remember, honor, and reflect on those who were lost.
