This week at 301, Jerry's wife Rita joined the group to teach us about the art of cookie decorating! She brought delicious home baked sugar cookies and fancy 'royal icing' that the youth really enjoyed working with.

Thank you Rita for taking the time to share your skills with our group!

Last week at 301 we followed up on an activity from January about communication by discussing what good communication looks like and how to put positive communication into practice. Then of course we smacked each other with pool noodles to drive home the point that good communication matters ;)

*Please disregard the Seahawks jersey being worn by Jackson. He is a man of his word and wore it under severe protest and complained about it all night*

๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ Why School Resource Officers Matter

School Resource Officers (SROs) play an important role in our schools by helping create a safe, supportive environment where students can learn and thrive. Beyond safety, SROs build positive relationships with students, serve as mentors, and are trusted resources for both staff and families.

Having an SRO on campus helps strengthen communication, provides quick support when needed, and promotes a sense of security for the entire school community. Just as important, SROs help teach responsibility, respect, and positive decision-making through everyday interactions.

Strong schools start with strong relationshipsโ€”and SROs are a vital part of that foundation.

Thank you to all School Resource Officers for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to our students and schools. Your work truly makes a difference every day. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐ŸซŽ๐Ÿ’› THANK YOU, COMMUNITY! ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸซŽ

What an incredible day at Mountain View for our first-ever Hubcap Heist!

We are so grateful to the many community partners, educators, and supporters who showed up to cheer on our students and help make this event truly special.

A huge thank you to:

๐Ÿซ Our higher education partners from Idaho State University, Lewis-Clark State College, University of Idaho, and Eastern Washington University

๐Ÿค The Kootenai County Juvenile Probation team for their continued support of our students

๐ŸŽ“ Former educators and advocates who never stop believing in alternative students

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ€ And especially New Vision Alternative High School students and staff for joining us and making this a day filled with sportsmanship, connection, and school pride !

Our students felt the encouragement, heard the cheers, and experienced what it means to be supported by a caring community.

Days like this remind us that when schools and communities come together, incredible things happen.

Thank you for believing in our kids and for helping us make history with the very first Hubcap Heist โ€” we canโ€™t wait for the next one! ๐ŸซŽ๐ŸŽ‰

This week at 301 we had a Christmas party full of games and treats and prizes! The kids took turns unwrapping a ball of saran wrap chock full of goodies, with a special prize at the very center. Special thanks to Kelli and Katie at Juvenile Probation for putting the saran wrap ball together! We also played a version of the game 'Sequence' with energy drinks which required a level of focus that the sugar and Christmas spirt made difficult to attain :)

We had a great time celebrating the year and our group which steadily grew throughout 2025 in number and that feeling of 'belonging' that is so important. Thank you to everyone that supported 301 this year! You helped make a lasting impact on the youth in our community we care about so much!

Thank you as well to our incredible group of volunteers that make this group possible! We can't do it without your consistent, positive presence week in and week out.
