Hail, Trolls!

Well, my Friends, the Time is at Hand. Below is information for the Class of 2026 Commencement Exercises. See you in a Week!

CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATE!
Now What?

1. Our Graduation Ceremony is Wednesday, June 3rd, in Boswell Hall on the North Idaho College campus. There will be a MANDATORY rehearsal that same day at 11 a.m., same place. You must be at the site no later than 5:30 that night. Doors open to the public at 6 p.m., the actual Ceremony begins at 6:30 sharp and usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour.

2. We will be issuing tickets for this yearโ€™s ceremony. Please go to this link: https://kbascholarship.formstack.com/forms/graduating_senior_registration and fill out the form. This will help us know how many tickets each Grad gets. We will hand out tickets at rehearsal when we know for sure what kind of numbers to expect, but plan on getting at least 5-7. If you donโ€™t need that many, please give them back to us so we can give them to Graduates with larger families.

3. Cap and Gowns, Announcements, Class Rings and just about everything else is available from Jostens. Go to this link: https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/productDetail/1958121/KOOTENAI-BRIDGE-ACADEMY/Cap-and-Gown/2145603580/CATALOG_REPOSITORY/Cap-and-Gown-Unit/2145603647 to place your order. You MUST order a Cap and Gown to participate in commencement exercises. If you do not want to purchase your gear, we have loaners available, but please make sure you do one or the other.

4. STAY IN TOUCH. As Graduation gets closer, come by the school, call us or check the website for any late breaking announcements.

5. If you have questions about continuing your education whether in college or a vocational program, talk to Heather and she will help you out.

6. One final thing about the ceremony itself: If at all possible, children under 2 should not attend. We love you, we love your family, but there are a thousand people in this hall roaring their approval for your accomplishment, and it scares the heck out of the babies; then they cry for the rest of the ceremony and no one is happy. If you have to bring them, go ahead, but if you can make other arrangements, weโ€™d appreciate it.

AGAIN โ€“ CONGRATULATIONS!

Hail, Trolls!

This is a reminder that the Silverwood trip with be this Thursday, 5/21. Bus leaves at 9 and will be back no later than 3. We've decided to keep the Building open 8-3 if you need to come in to do work, but it will be a skeleton crew since most of the teachers are going to the park. If you come in to take Finals in Math or Science, you will be on your own! ๐Ÿ˜‰

SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED Friday and Monday for Memorial Day Weekend.

GRADUATION IS JUNE 3rd - TIME IS UP!!! ๐Ÿคจ

Hail, Trolls!

Two Items for your urgent consideration, Good People.

1. Permission Slips for Silverwood are due THIS THURSDAY, May 14th. So far, only TEN students have turned them in! For a Charter Bus that holds 56! The weather forecast looks beautiful (Sunny and mid 70s), the BBQ lunch they make is delicious (worth going right there) and it's Silverwood! C'mon, Guys, get outside and have some fun. ๐Ÿ˜Š

2. The Graduation Countdown clicker is now up on Connexus Annoucements - 23 Days left! If you plan on walking in the Ceremony, the time to take care of business is NOW. The Building should be packed with students taking Finals, but it is only a third full. I don't want to see broken hearts, angry parents and disappointed grandparents on the 3rd, so get in here and FINISH. BTW, if you are a Parent reading this and want to check on your Seniors status, email me at [email protected] and I will happily give you an update.

Let's end the year Troll Strong, People! ๐Ÿ’ช

Hail, Ye Mighty Trolls!

May is nearly upon us, and that means it's time for our yearly trip to Silverwood amusement park! Come join us on Thursday, May 21st, while we go have some fun!

To join the festivities you must do the following:

1. Be a student in Good Standing. That means your Connexus account is active OR you have completed all your work on Connexus OR you are already a 2026 Graduate.

2. You must fill out a Permission Slip and have it to Dodi by Thursday, May 14th at Noon. We have to pre-order tickets, so this is a MUST on the deadline. If you are 18 you can sign your own, if you are under 18 you need a Parent or Guardian to sign.

3. You MUST ride the Charter Bus to and from KBA. Be here at the school at 9 am. We will have you back here at 3 pm, make sure you have a ride home. We make you ride the bus so we can make sure everyone is accounted for and no one is stranded. The ONLY exception is if you live in Athol or parts north of there, please let us know if this is the case.

This is always a hoot, we hope you can join us!

Hail to Thee, Ever Victorious Trolls!

This Thursday, April 23, the Building will be CLOSED from 11-2 as we gather for our yearly sojourn to Triple Play.

Show up there at 11 (this is a self-transportation situation) and look for me or one of the Staff. We'll sign you in, give you a bracelet and you are good to go for everything but the Water Park. Lunch is included (their food is not bad) AND, if you come, that will count for your Attendance for the day - what a deal!

The Building will be open 8-10:45 and 3-6 on this day if you want to come in for schoolwork, but I hope you can find some time to come join us for silly fun.

Greetings, Ye Mighty Trolls!

Welcome to the end of Third Quarter. I think of Q3 as the "Elimination" Quarter; the weather sucks, the Holidays are past, football is over...it can be hard to stay motivated. But take heart, the Equinox is passed and Spring is right around the corner!

The Building will be closed 3/28 โ€“ 4/5. You can work on Connexus from home during this time. If you need anything, you can email me at [email protected], I'll be checking in from time to time. Any work you do will count as "bonus" absences for Quarter Four. Everyone begins Q4 with a fresh slate of 6 absences to last the rest of the year.

Speaking of the rest of the year.... Unto the Class of 2026, Verily, Yea, Verily I Say Unto Thee: Time's Up. April and May are going to FLY by. All that work you've been putting off, thinking you'd do it later? NO. The Time is NOW. There is a small army of you lurking around with a handful of finals and an elective or two to complete and you are DONE. The Gong of Graduation longs to ring for you - FINISH! If you have any questions or doubts about your status, contact your teacher ASAP and make a plan. Don't wait til the 3rd week of May when it is probably going to be too late.

We love you, we want you to succeed, but in the end it is up to you to make it happen. Think about how great it will feel to be a Graduate, and the next thing you know you'll be one. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Let's see some Magic.

Charles

Hail, Ye Mighty Trolls!

Well, I have good news and bad news.

Good News: We are heading into a 4 day weekend, the Building will be closed Friday through Monday - enjoy Presidents Day. Any work you do during these 4 days will count as make-up to erase absences.

Bad News: It is with regret that I have to announce the Ski Trip is cancelled. This has only happened once before in 2015. There has just been pitiful snowfall all this year, reports from Lookout are of rocks, dirt, even grass in the main runs. What snow there is alternates between ice and Slurpee. Only 7 people have turned in permission slips, and the smallest charter bus I can rent seats 52...I assume people are not signing up BECAUSE of the rotten conditions, but I am afraid we are going to have to scrub the mission for this year. ๐Ÿ˜ž

We had planned a massive Staff Training Day for the 19th for those Staff who weren't going skiing, and we are locked into that, so the Building WILL be open 8-2:30 this Thursday, but it will be a skeleton crew as most of the teachers will be learning a new data management system for next year - it's probably a good day to work from home, in other words.

Sorry Guys! We tried, but there is no arguing with Mother Nature. On a brighter note, we are locked in for Triple Play on 4/23 and Silverwood for 5/21, keep your eyes peeled for announcements as those dates approach. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hello, KBA Parents

A former student of mine from 30 years ago at Project now works for the State at Vocational Rehabilitation. She is putting together a Career Fair specifically for students on IEPs or 504s and is reaching out to the community looking for some help from local businesses.

Brandy does great work for young people in our community, if you or someone you know is in a postion to contribute, her contact info and a summary of what she is looking for is below.

Thank you,

Charles

Hello,

We are just five weeks away from Career Quest, a career exploration fair for high school students, and we are entering the final stretch of planning.

Career Quest is a hands-on career exploration event designed for high school students with IEPs or 504 plans from across North Idaho. The goal of the event is to help students explore real-world career options, learn what different jobs are actually like day to day, and connect directly with professionals in their community. Students rotate through small group sessions where they hear from speakers, ask questions, and participate in one-on-one conversations to build awareness, confidence, and work-ready skills.

As we prepare for the event, we still have three big needs to help make Career Quest a success:

1. Career Speakers
We are looking for individuals working in:

Automotive maintenance or repair
Nursery or florist careers
Landscaping
Child care
Trades or any other career field willing to share their experiences
Speakers simply talk with students about their job, career path, training, and what a typical workday looks like.

2. Student Prize Donations
We are seeking donations of items to use as student prizes, such as:

Gift cards
Small giveaway items or donated products
These prizes help us support the event and create an engaging, positive experience for students.

3. Snack Donations
We are also in need of:

Individually wrapped snacks
Bags of candy
If you are interested in coming out to speak with students, you can scan the QR code on the flyer and complete the interest form, or contact me directly by phone or email.

Phone: 208-704-3697
Email: [email protected]

If you are able and willing to donate items or snacks, please call or email me and I will make arrangements to connect.

Thank you for supporting our students and helping make Career Quest a meaningful experience.

Warm regards,

Brandy Longley
