As Spokane entered a new era in the 1970s, Union Gospel Mission continued answering God's call to serve those in need.

The next 25 years of UGM's history were marked by growth, deeper compassion, and an expanding understanding of what true recovery looks like. As our city changed and new challenges emerged, the Mission adapted to meet increasingly complex needs related to homelessness, addiction, and spiritual searching.

Through it all, God remained faithful—raising up leaders, supporters, and community partners who carried forward a ministry built on generations of service and hope.

This photo captures a glimpse of that era and the mission that continued to transform lives during a rapidly changing time in Spokane's history.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Carl M. Hansen Foundation for its generous $6,000 grant, awarded to UGM in December 2025.

These funds helped make possible the remodeling of one of our Men's Aftercare apartments, providing a renewed and welcoming space for men as they continue their journey toward lasting transformation.

We are excited to share that the first apartment renovation is now complete! This updated living space will serve as a place of hope and encouragement for the men in our Aftercare program.

Soon, hundreds of children from Spokane's underserved neighborhoods will step into a place where they are safe, welcomed, and invited to experience God's love in a real and personal way. For many of these kids, camp is the highlight of their entire year.

These funds will help provide food and essential supplies for the women in our recovery program as they work toward lives of stability, healing, and hope.

We are incredibly grateful to the Harry W. Morrison Foundation for their generous $20,000 grant awarded to UGM on March 11, 2026, to help purchase a refrigeration truck for the LC Valley Shelter.

Thanks to their partnership and support, the truck has now been purchased and will play an important role in helping us serve our community more effectively.
