Good evening, everyone!

We would like to share the following website, which provides information regarding the proposed future development of the new Cohasset Police Station and potential renovations to the existing Cohasset Fire Station.

Our intention in sharing this information is simply to help keep the community informed about the project and the plans currently under consideration.

We respectfully ask that any questions or concerns regarding the project be directed to the committee overseeing the planning process. We will not be responding to questions in the comment section, as the committee is best equipped to provide accurate and up-to-date information.

Have you ever driven around Cohasset and noticed that some utility poles have a red stripe painted around them? Those poles mark the former locations of the Gamewell Company Fire Alarm Call Boxes.

Installed in communities around the country in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these boxes provided an early way to alert the Fire Department when a fire was discovered. When a box was pulled, a coded signal was transmitted to the Fire Department through the Gamewell tapper system, sounding the Gamewell Diaphone horn with a series of blasts corresponding to the location of the fire.

This is Box 51, which was located at the intersection of Beechwood Street and Doane Street. The box was recently restored by Rob Ross of Scituate Collision for one of our members.

A big thank you to Rob for thoughtfully and carefully preserving a little piece of Cohasset Fire Department history for us. It is a wonderful reminder of the technology and traditions that helped protect our community for generations.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to honor the memory of the lives lost and the countless lives forever changed by that day. We remember the courage and sacrifice of first responders, the resilience of survivors, and the strength of a nation that came together in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

As we mark 25 years, let us take a moment to reflect, to pay tribute, and to carry forward the values of unity, compassion, courage, and hope that emerged in the days that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Good morning, everyone!
Some of our off-duty firefighters will be at Stop & Shop for our annual “Fill the Boot” and Touch-a-Truck event in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

100% of the proceeds raised will go directly to the MDA to help support individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases.

Please stop by, say hello, check out the trucks, and show your support! Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and makes a difference.

Many fire departments observe Firefighters Memorial Sunday in June, and Massachusetts law recognizes it on the second Sunday. Thank you to Governor Maura Healey for proclaiming today Firefighters Memorial Sunday 2026, honoring Boston Fire Department Firefighter Robert "BK" Kilduff, Jr, and all departed firefighters: "Their contributions to our collective safety and well-being should never be forgotten."

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the line-of-duty death of Boston Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr., who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the people of Boston on May 23, 2026.

Firefighter Kilduff embodied courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to his brothers and sisters in the fire service and to the community he proudly protected. His loss is immeasurable.

Rest easy Brother, Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
