Jazmin Martinez has always believed that education can change lives. She has spent her career designing programs for vulnerable communities; understanding the difference it can make when people feel seen, heard and are equipped with the right resources.

When she discovered the Alzheimer's Association, she knew immediately she had found a place to put that purpose to work. Now, Jazmin volunteers as a community educator, leaning into her professional expertise to deliver educational programs to families in her community.

For Jazmin, volunteering has been a transformative experience. Her most treasured moments are the visits to community centers where Hispanic families gather. "The warm welcome from the people and their heartfelt gratitude after every presentation mean the world to me."

To anyone considering volunteering, her message is simple: "There is a spot for everyone here. The environment allows you to grow and make a real difference right away."

Market 32 and Price Chopper Supermarkets, in partnership with Freihofer's Baking Company Inc., presented a donation of $19,079 to the Alzheimer's Association following a two-month in-store fundraising campaign in May and June. The ceremonial check was presented yesterday at the Clifton Park Shoppers World Market 32 in Clifton Park.

"We are truly grateful for this generous donation toward advancing our mission of a world without Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia," said David Sobel, executive director of the Northeastern New York Chapter. "Support from community partners such as Market 32 and Price Chopper, as well as Freihofer's, is especially meaningful as we work to provide the best resources to local individuals and families affected by dementia."
