Lake Lurleen State Park-Alabama

Official page of Lake Lurleen State Park. The 1,625-acre park is a scenic lakeside retreat. Open 7 am - sunset year round.

Facilities include a modern campground, banquet room, picnic area, play area, pavilions, beach with bathhouse,fishing piers, boat rentals and boat launch. Ninety-one modern campsites overlook the scenic 250-acre lake. All sites have water and 30 Amp electric service, and thirty-five sites have sewer hookups.

Hang out with our education team this weekend with two different ways to appreciate leaves and bugs!

At 10 a.m., we'll meet over by the Nature Center where participants will get to make their own leaf pounding art and learn all about the hidden lives of plants. Please note, this class has limited space and can fill up quickly.

At 1 p.m., we will grab equipment to explore the incredible lives of Arthropods while investigating for evidence and location of some bug friends! We might get a little muddy so bring water shoes and lots of drinkable water! This class is also limited in availability.

Wondering what to do on Saturday? Join us for a program!

At 1PM, meet our Education Team at the Nature Center for an Arthropod Adventures program where we will learn all about BUGS!!!!!

Learn what makes an arthropod different from other animals, how to tell an insect from other arthropods, and even safely collect, study, and release some specimens. It will be fun for the whole family!
