Thomas County Local Emergency Planning Committee We have 22 members which encompasses the 13 required. Our members are from government, private business, schools, & hospital. We are ALL hazards planning.

We are expecting snow once again mid week with accumulations up to 6 inches possible. Snow amounts could vary depending on the location of the cold front. There is potential for hazardous travel conditions at times and frigid temperatures with wind chills as low as 25 below zero on Wednesday. Stay tuned for forecast updates!

Scattered showers and storms have developed across Cheyenne County Colorado and back across Wallace County. Additional storm development is possible in the highlighted area through the evening. Severe weather is not anticipated. Gusty winds and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning can be expected in vicinity of any thunderstorms. Remember, if you are close enough to hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds are possible this afternoon and early this evening (Sunday July 18) – mainly between 2-10 pm MDT. Significant uncertainty exists with regard to the precise timing, location, and coverage of storms.

Portions of Yuma County Colorado and Dundy County Nebraska has been upgraded to a "Slight Risk" of severe weather today. Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds are possible during the afternoon and evening hours this weekend – mainly between 3-11 pm MDT. Significant uncertainty exists with regard to the precise timing, location, and coverage of storms.

Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter to golf ball size hail and damaging winds are possible this afternoon and evening (Friday July 16) – mainly between 3-10 pm MDT.

Thunderstorms are anticipated to develop along a southward moving cold front this afternoon. The blue area highlights the greater risk for storms this afternoon large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. A second round of storms is expected around sunset moving east across east Colorado and impacting western Kansas through the night with damaging winds possible.

Updated Weather Update

There is a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening along with a marginal risk of severe storms across much of the forecast area this evening. Strong winds will be the main threat with any storms that become severe, along with hail up to an inch in diameter across portions of eastern Colorado this evening.

There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms east of a Norcatur to Saint Peter, Kansas line late this afternoon through this evening. The main threat with any storms that may develop and become severe is damaging winds. There may also be hail up to one inch in diameter with some of the stronger storms.

There is a chance for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon through the early night hours with a few storms being potentially severe. Wind is currently the primary threat with any storm that would go severe. Look for future updates.
