Colchester Rescue Squad Colchester Rescue Squad (CRS) was founded in 1961, by members of the Malletts Bay Fire Department.

Colchester Rescue is comprised of a combination career and volunteer staff providing Emergency Medical Services to the Town of Colchester, it's residents and visitors. For 50 years Colchester Rescue has continued to provide emergency medical services to the residents of Colchester, and surrounding communities. CRS has been at the forefront of providing the highest level of patient care to it's cit

izens since it's foundation. In September 2010, Colchester Rescue and Essex Rescue, became the first agencies to provide care at the Paramedic level, in Vermont EMS District #3.

Colchester Rescue is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Advanced Life Support provider to fill a full-time leadership position. Candidates are expected to have a solid background in Emergency Medical Services, with the ability to lead a crew through a variety of medical emergencies.

Career Captains are primarily responsible for responding to emergency medical calls for service, and ensuring proper treatment and care for patients. Other administrative duties include ambulance operation, public education/outreach, crew training, routine station and vehicle maintenance, as well as additional tasks, as assigned.

A full-time position at Colchester Rescue entails a 36- to 48- hour workweek, with 1.5x overtime rate of pay after 40 hours. Required shift work includes days/nights, weekends, holidays and working in all types of weather. Successful candidates will be licensed at Vermont AEMT or Paramedic level, or be eligible for reciprocity. Must possess a valid driver’s license, ICS 100, 200 and 700. AHA CPR Instructor, EVOC certification and ICS 300, 400 desired.
