Today B co Bandits hosted the 4th annual SGT Magoon welding challenge! 4 teams from 3 different technical centers competed for scholarships ranging from $1000-$2000 per student thanks to UVM. Also, a big thanks to AWI for coming and observing as well as grading the teams.

Teams had 2 hours to complete a piece that best represented their technical center. Each team had a set amount of metal with the opportunity to also draw pieces from a mystery box based on a number drawn from a hat.

Taking 1st place and Earning the grand prize of $2000 scholarship was a team of 4 from Center for Technology Essex

Second place went to a team of only 3 students from Cold Hollow Career Center earning each of them a $1500 scholarship

Third place went to a second team of 4 students from Center for Technology Essex earning each of those students a $1000 scholarship

Unfortunately students from Randolph Technical Career Center came up just a little short, but we can’t wait to see what they come up with for next year!

It was a great day of skills shown by all who participated. Thank you to all participants, soldiers, AWI staff and volunteers who made this event possible!

During this past drill weekend, B CO Bandits got to do some section specific training in preparation for our upcoming Annual training.
The Recovery section was able to do a mock recovery mission while getting a little wet.

The maintenance section was able to set up and tear down their maintenance tent in order to be proficient and train up the newer soldiers in the formation.

The welders were able to start building some equipment that will be of use in the coming months.

Lastly, the unit was able to recognize 3 outstanding soldiers that had made great achievements and continue to do great things for our formation and the Army National Guard as a whole.

During this drill weekend B company Bandits congratulated SGT Brothers for his meritorious achievements during a prior training event. SGT Brothers was given an AAM for his achievements.

We also had the pleasure of promoting a soldier that has recently returned from BCT and joined our formation with a great attitude and eagerness to learn. Congratulations SPC Reynoso, we look forward to your continued excellence within the formation!
