Vermont State Guard

Vermont State Guard The Vermont State Guard (VSG) is the all-volunteer state guard of Vermont. As such, our unpaid volunteer activities take place only within the state. Richard D.

The Vermont State Guard
The Vermont State Guard Motto is “Ready to Serve.” We do this at the direction of the Governor of Vermont through the Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard. We are men and women, ages 17 to 80, former military service or experienced civilian, possessing the necessary skills, knowledge, and commitment to plan for organizational readiness and perform multiple tasks t

o support the Vermont National Guard in emergency or service events. Who We Are

Commanding General’s Statement:
The Vermont State Guard is comprised of dedicated volunteer men and women, committed to serving the State of Vermont. It is this passion to service that makes the Vermont State Guard a cut above. As the threat to our national and local security increases with recent events and an unsettling global climate, and because homeland security is a national priority, the role of the Vermont State Guard, along with other state guards, becomes ever more important. When substantial portions of the Vermont National Guard (Army and Air) become deployed outside of the state, the Vermont State Guard may be called upon to assume responsibilities of the National Guard during their absence. By order of the Governor, and under the direction of the Adjutant General, the Vermont State Guard may be called upon to provide services during a state emergency, or to perform a humanitarian role in special situations. Whatever the call, it is incumbent upon the Vermont State Guard to be ready. The Vermont State Guard is one of many state guards throughout the country. Morrison , Major General
Commanding General, Vermont State Guard

Happy Father's Day from the Vermont State Guard

Today, we honor and celebrate all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures whose dedication, strength, and guidance help shape the next generation.
Whether serving their families, their communities, or their state, fathers lead by example through hard work, sacrifice, integrity, and compassion. Their commitment inspires those around them and strengthens the communities we proudly serve.

The Vermont State Guard extends our sincere gratitude to all the fathers among our ranks and throughout Vermont. Thank you for the values you instill, the support you provide, and the countless ways you make a difference every day.
We wish you and your families a safe, happy, and memorable Father's Day.

Members the VT State Guard Recruiting and Retention team braved the wind and rain today at the annual Taste of Summer festival in Ferrisburgh. Despite the festival having a low turn out this year due to the rain our recruiters were on site ready to answer and questions and handing our plastic army men to the youngsters!

🇺🇸 D-DAY REMEMBRANCE JUNE 6, 1944 🇺🇸
Today, the Vermont State Guard joins our nation in remembering the brave Allied servicemen who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today and changed the course of history.

As we honor the heroes of D-Day, we remember those who never returned home and recognize the extraordinary valor displayed by an entire generation.

Their legacy continues to inspire all who wear a uniform and all who serve their communities and country.
May we never forget the price of freedom and the sacrifices made to preserve it.

"These men came to liberate, not to conquer; to restore freedom, not to take it away."

The Vermont State Guard proudly honors the memory of the Greatest Generation and all who served in the cause of liberty.
Never Forget. Ready To Serve.
