More than forty dedicated Colchester residents and individuals make-up the Colchester Democratic Town Committee.

These neighbors of yours believe in serving everyone in our town to improve the quality of life for all. We serve as volunteers, elected officials, and on Boards and Commissions throughout our town. We believe in transparent government, which puts people first through thoughtful planning, effective service, and responsible budgets. Achievement of these goals is only reached by working collaborativ

ely with all involved. A major goal of the DTC is the preservation and promotion of the whole community and it is vital in everything we do; this makes us one. We understand that the role of government is to maintain fiscal soundness in the delivery of services with accountability to the public at large, which includes a safety net for all citizens. Together, we are working to establish a town that speaks directly and honestly to its constituents, believing that the ethics of public service rises above that of self-interest or politics. The Colchester Democratic Town Committee is committed to the principles of our Town Charter, our Code of Ethics, and pledges that as a political entity it will consistently strive to achieve the goals set forth by its citizens. We succeed in our goals with your help and involvement. Your ideas and concerns are important to us. We encourage you to seek us out and become an active participant with the DTC.

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. On this Memorial Day, we remember their sacrifice with gratitude and reflect on the freedoms they helped protect. We extend our deepest appreciation to the fallen, their families, and all who have served.

🚨🚨🚨 Your attendance and vote are needed tonight at Town Hall! 🚨🚨🚨

Former Selectman Jason LaChapelle says he plans to make a motion from the floor to cut BOE by at leaat $500,000 tonight. If his motion passes, these cuts will become effective with the budget on next week's ballot. Elected officials cannot stop this. At Town Meeting, you are the voice and votes whose choices matter.

We know this is a busy time of year and JJIS has their concert tonight but if this issue matters to you, please show up to Town Hall at 7:00pm tonight!

Colchester Democrats - you have helped us build a strong town and school system. Both need our support right now. There is so much misinformation out there right now coming from the same few individuals who have opposed budgets year after year. Please speak up at public hearing tomorrow night to support our town and schools!

Join our DTC team on Saturday, April 25th from 8am-12pm to help get Colchester spruced up for spring! There are many different areas where you can choose to work. Colchester Parks and Rec will provide garbage bags and free garbage pickup. Jobs may include spreading mulch, raking, weeding, picking up garbage, and more. Clean up locations include the schools, town buildings, and parks. After spending the morning cleaning, we will meet up at Mel’s Downtown Creamery at 12pm for free ice cream as our way of saying “Thank you”! Please see the signup link below to join us.

Governor Lamont will be holding a Meet and Greet event in Colchester on Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30 PM at the Polish Club in Colchester (395 S Main St, Colchester). Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz will also be in attendance. Please join us to hear about their plans for our state in the upcoming years and ask questions.
