FF Gordon, FF Welch & FF Langdon are playing softball this year as part of a combo team between CHVFC, Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department Inc., Bozrah Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. & Franklin Volunteer Fire Department in the Eastern Connecticut Firefighters Softball League… Tonight was our first game and we Won!!

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who recently donated a vehicle to us so your local firefighters could do extrication training!!

Additionally, we are on the lookout for the following items:

1. A bunk bed - we are in the process of making upgrades to our Training Facility and we are making new “mock apartments” for search and rescue training. Having unique furniture like a Bunk Bed will greatly assist firefighters in advance searches, which someday could help you!

2. A treadmill - our gym at Fire HQ could use a new (working condition, modern) treadmill, as our current one gets a lot of use and recently decided to terminate its life.

3. A vending machine - I know, a long shot. We are looking for a new drink and snack vending machines for Fire HQ; if anyone has a hook up can you point us in that direction, please?!

4. Yard Games - our outdoor rental pavilion at Schuster Park has many new upgrades lately and is booking up fast!! We’re specifically looking for connect 4, ladder toss, axe throwing type larger outdoor games.

Looking to host an outdoor party this year but don’t know where? Look no further!

Our pavilion at Schuster Park on Mill Hill Rd is a large 60′ x 120′ area outfitted with 12 picnic tables for your use. We have exterior lighting and plenty of bright LED lighting under the pavilion too to keep your evening event going well into the early night. We also have a new bonfire pit, horseshoe pits, a volleyball net and various other lawn games to use. We have a large parking area for more guests than you can think of to invite! And yes, we have new restroom facilities too.

We’d like to recognize and give a big thank you to Troy and his team over at Reliable Auto on Norwich Ave for donating his time and equipment to move these vehicles for us! The month of April is vehicle stabilization and extrication for Colchester Fire & EMS members. Also, thank you to everyone who donated a vehicle for us to use!
