Central Campbell Fire District would like to remind everyone to take a few simple steps to protect yourself, your family and your neighbors during periods of extreme heat.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to Firefighter David Weghorn on the start of a new chapter with his family and on his retirement from the fire service and Central Campbell Fire District. His lifelong dedication and service to the surrounding communities has been a blessing and we wish him nothing but the best in the years to come! Best of luck Dave Weghorn!

Firefighter Dave Weghorn is hanging up his helmet after an incredible career of service.
Dave began serving this community in 1997 with the Cold Spring–Crestview Fire Department as its first Explorer/Junior Firefighter. He continued as a volunteer before being hired full-time as a Firefighter/Paramedic, a role in which he served for nearly 15 years.
Throughout his career, Dave has been instrumental in training countless firefighters, paramedics, and engineers. His dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact not only within Central Campbell, but across the fire service as a whole.
We are truly grateful for his commitment and the legacy he leaves behind.
To show our appreciation, we invite friends, family, past and present coworkers, students, and community members to join us in celebrating Dave on his last day.

Dave's last day is June 11th. Please stop by anytime. We will be grilling out at the Firehouse for lunch between 11:30 and 2:00 if you want some food!

Please help us congratulate one of our own, Firefighter/ Paramedic Van Roland, for completing the 13-week Firefighter Recruit Class at the Fire Academy of Kentucky in Greenville. Van has gained nearly 400-hours of intense training that will better his knowledge, skills, and help serve the communities of Cold Spring, Highland Heights, Crestview, and Campbell County overall with dedication and the upmost professionalism. Congratulations Van on an amazing job!

❄️Cold & Inclement Weather Safety Reminder ❄️

As colder temperatures and winter weather move in, we want to remind everyone to take a few extra steps to stay safe and warm. Please keep our most vulnerable neighbors in mind, especially the elderly and those without reliable heat. Dress in layers and limit time outdoors during extreme cold! If you have to travel during cold/inclement weather, slow down, increase following distance, and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle!

This past Saturday, Jan. 17th, 2026, members of the Central Campbell Fire District were bestowed an honor befitting of their dedication and professionalism. All too often we deal with tragedy and heartache in the fire service but on this day, we got to celebrate. Celebrate the work of these fine individuals and the life of a young woman who was given a second chance to live a long and fruitful life.

Congratulations to Capt. Rob Kloeker, Lt. Ray Dishman, Eng. Aaron Weiner, Eng. Ross Adams, FF/Medic Ron Burchfield, FF/Medic Dave Weghorn, and FF/Medic Brett Iles on receiving the Monica Rath Emergency Medical Service Award at the Northern Kentucky Firefighters Association Awards Banquet. Exemplary work gentlemen!
