April photo dump 🌿 From fire and shelter building to aquatic ecology and fishing, it’s been a month full of hands-on learning and time well spent outdoors. We’ve loved spotting signs of animals waking up after a long winter and sharing so many simple, meaningful moments along the way 🐾

We had a great time with students from PS 219 exploring wind energy and sustainability 🌬️ Students learned the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources and discussed how to use shared resources responsibly. They then put their engineering skills to work by designing and building their own windmills to take back to school ⚙️

🌲✨ PS 232 took learning beyond the classroom and into the woods!

❄️ On their 3-day, 2-night Operation Explorer trip, students explored Stony Kill Farm, strengthened teamwork on our Project Adventure course, mastered winter outdoor skills like fire starting and snowshoeing, and discovered the history and science of maple sugaring.

🍁 Adventure, resilience, and a little maple magic all in one trip.

🔍❓critter scene investigation: new suspect!
❄️🐾These animal’s tracks were found wandering along the trails at TOEC. They are narrow and elongated in shape, and thanks to the snow there are visible claw marks. These are the prints of a quick, skilled predator.
Based on these visual clues, what animal do you think left these tracks? 🕵️✨Find out if your guess was correct in the last slide!
