A few weeks ago, we shared that we were exploring the possibility of having community volunteers help build the new playground at Ku**er Park. We were truly overwhelmed by the generosity, enthusiasm, and willingness of so many people to donate their time and talents to this project.

After careful consideration of several factors, including the installation timeline we must meet, the decision has been made to move forward with having the playground installed by the playground company. While we won’t be utilizing community volunteers for the actual build, we want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who stepped up and offered to help.

Thank you to those who have already dedicated their time with site preparation, planning, and the many behind-the-scenes tasks that have helped bring this project to life. Your support and commitment to improving our community have been invaluable, and this project would not be where it is today without you.

We are excited to see the vision come together and look forward to welcoming a beautiful new ADA-compliant playground and a new fitness area that families and residents can enjoy for years to come. Thank you for being part of this journey and for continuing to support projects that make our community stronger. ❤️

Town of Colden Board Meeting

I wanted to clarify a few things about the Town Board meeting tonight, Thursday May 14th. We will be holding a Public Meeting on a new code regulating short term rentals.

There will be public comment allowed for you to voice your opinions regarding short term rentals.

There have been many posts on social media regarding an update to our code involving raising poultry within the R1,R2 and RB Zones within our Town as well as a new code Regulating Battery Storage units within our Town. At this time, both of these topics are in the hands of the Town Planning Board. When the Planning Board completes their draft on these two items, it will then be presented to the Town Board. At that time we will hold a public hearing for questions and public comment on these matters.

As always, the Town Board welcomes and encourages your attendance at our meetings so you can stay informed about your community. Please call Town Hall or me directly if you have any questions.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Colden on Thursday, the 14th day of May, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Colden Town Hall, located at 8812 State Road, Colden, New York at which hearing interested citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard on a proposed Town Code Chapter 104 Short Term Rentals and amendments to Town Code Chapter 108, amending adoption of code to establish permitted use districts for Short Term Rental properties.

All interested parties are entitled to be heard upon the proposed Town Code chapters at such Public Hearing. Copies of Chapter 104 and Chapter 108 amendments are available for review at the offices of the Town Clerk at 8812 State Road, Colden, New York, during normal business hours.

The Town of Colden Needs Your Help to Build Our New Community Playground! 🌳💪

The Town of Colden is excited to announce plans to build a brand‑new playground for our community. This will be a space for our children to play, our families to gather, and our town to enjoy for many years to come.

To make this project a reality, we’re asking our residents (18 years and older) to volunteer a little of their time. Your participation will directly save the Town money—funds that can then be used for future improvements to our park.

We need both skilled and unskilled volunteers, over the age of 18. Whether you can help with drilling holes, pouring concrete, turning wrenches for assembly, or simply lending a hand wherever needed, there’s a place for you on this project. It will be a fun and rewarding experience, and something we can proudly say we built together.

The playground, sandbox, and swings at Ku**er Park are currently closed until further notice. Please note that these areas will also remain closed throughout the soccer season.
