🚨 COCISD CLOSURE ALERT 🚨

Due to severe storms and an increased risk of flash flooding expected tomorrow afternoon, all COCISD campuses and offices will be closed Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Hazardous road conditions could pose serious safety risks for buses, staff, families, and student drivers during commutes. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.

🌧️ Weather Update for COCISD Families

COCISD is actively monitoring the tropical disturbance in the Gulf to keep our school community safe, updated, and well-informed. If there are ever any changes to the school day in response to weather, we will follow our Emergency Alert Procedures to notify all members of the COCISD community.

At this time, we do not anticipate any changes to our regular school schedule. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and communicate promptly if that changes.

Student and staff safety is always our top priority. Thank you for your flexibility, preparedness, and continued partnership as we monitor the weather together.

Parents and families are welcome to park along Slade Street to cheer on our grandparents and students as the parade rolls by!

🛑 STOP FOR SCHOOL BUSES — IT’S THE LAW! 🛑

With school back in session, we want to remind everyone to use extra caution when sharing the road with our school buses. Knowing when to stop can help protect our students as they travel to and from school each day.

🚍 Remember: When a school bus has its red lights flashing, drivers must stop unless they are traveling in the opposite direction on a roadway separated by a physical barrier.

Passing a stopped school bus isn’t just dangerous—it can also result in serious fines and penalties.

Please slow down, stay alert, and help us keep our Trojans safe! ❤️🖤🤍

Heads up Coldspring and Shepherd folks, 8/22/26:

Trident Pipeline personnel reached out and advised that they will be pressure testing new sections of the pipeline. There will be loud releases of air and possibly vibrations in the ground. These are expected to happen sometime between Sunday and Monday morning. The locations are FM 1514 area and FM 1127 area.
