Attention parents and guardians of incoming 7th graders!

Per Mississippi state regulations, all students entering the 7th grade must have proof of a Tdap booster vaccine before the start of the school year.

Please ensure your child receives this required vaccination and provide an updated Mississippi Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form 121) to the school in order to complete registration. You can obtain this form from your child's healthcare provider or the local health department.

Getting this turned in early helps ensure your student's schedule is ready to go for the first day of school! If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school office.

Registration is now officially open for all new students. If you are new to our district, please contact your child’s school directly for more information on how to get started.
Please keep these important upcoming dates in mind:
• July 24: Registration closes for all students.
• July 31: First day of school!
• August 5: Registration reopens by appointment only.

As we head into the summer break, please note that our schools and district office will be operating on adjusted schedules. Whether you need to drop off paperwork or stop by for a visit, here is when you can find us:

In observance of Memorial Day, all Tate County School District schools and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 25. We will begin our regular summer hours on Tuesday, May 26.
As our community enjoys the long weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. We are forever grateful for their dedication and patriotism.

It's a great day to practice for your graduation ceremony in Tate County! Our seniors are putting in the final preparation today to make sure their big moment is absolutely perfect.
We are incredibly excited to celebrate the amazing Class of 2026. As a reminder, all graduation ceremonies will take place this Saturday, May 23, at the Northwest Coliseum. The schedule for the day is as follows:
• Independence High School: 10:00 am
• Strayhorn High School: 1:00 pm
Years of hard work, dedication, and resilience have led to this moment. We can't wait to see our graduates walk across the stage and step into their bright futures.
