The MMR vaccine provides lifelong immunity. Getting both doses—recommended at 12–15 months and again at 4–6 years old—offers the best protection and helps stop the spread of measles.

It's important to know your vaccination status, and for parents to check their child's records. If you aren't sure, reach out to your health care provider. They can review records, answer questions and help determine if additional doses are recommended for your situation.
