We do not have hand, foot loss and mouth disease! We have hand, foot and mouth disease.

😆

ECSE is the abbreviation for Early Childhood Special Education. Due to hand, foot loss and mouth disease, ONLY PRE-K and ECSE will not meet tomorrow. ALL OTHER GRADES WILL BE IN SESSION.

THERE IS NO NEED TO PANIC. In the Pre-K there are cases of hand, foot and mouth disease. To allow time for the rooms to be sanitized and students to get healthy, we are canceling ONLY Pre-k and ECSE for Friday, Sept. 4.

Cole Camp Bluebird Volleyball: Last day of August 2026 and the thermometers were on either side of 100° as Cole Camp traveled to St Paul's Concordia. And the energy and determination displayed by both varsity teams was just as high!
First though the C team members were on court. Freshman Elaina Alcala gave the Lady Bluebirds 5 serves early for an 8-4 lead. She then served 7 late in the set as Cole Camp won 25 -17.
Second match of the C team was just as close until a 5-1 spurt at the end for a 25-18 Cole Camp victory.
Pretty good start for the JV Bluebirds as they built a 9-2 lead. Sophomore Hannah Truwe with a nice left-handed save for the Lady Saints. By midway, Lauren Hesse had a string of 7 serves including a couple aces for an 18-4 margin. Lady Bluebirds took the set 25-12.
Melanie Dieckman with a strong hit early 2nd JV set. Hesse another 5 serves made the score 14-6 midway. Certainly not the tallest Lady Bluebird, but Kaylan Poe gets a good angle on most of her hits over the net. Charlotte Harper finished the set with a pair of scores as Cole Camp won 25-13.
In the varsity match this was Cole Camp's 2nd game and the first for St Paul. Cole Camp led 4-0 starting with Madilynn Ogle serving. Several official calls of players being out of rotation were made, which results in the opposing team getting a point. Cole Camp led 13-9 halfway through and gained a 21 6 - 16 lead later. But the Saints capitalized on a couple Bluebird misses and tied the set at 23. Back and forth till Olivia Vansel with a kill to clinch the 1st set in overtime 27-25.
No more than a 3 point run for either team in the 2nd set. Dakota Dieckman with a couple kills off Ogle sets for a 20-17 lead and a Saint timeout. Just like that the Saints tied the game up at 20. Riley Raetz an ace helping build a three-point lead, then the Saints tied again at 24. Second overtime set went to Cole Camp 26-24.
The Saints have several tall players and man can they swat the ball! Andrea Dieckman blocked several of their attempts. Jolee Espey with a surprise backflip of the ball for a score early. However the Saints were ahead 22-15 and the hometown boys Pep Club were making lots of noise cheering them on! Not just yet said the Lady Bluebirds. Raetz served 4 and a couple beautiful Ogle sets for Andrea to put away and the score was 23-23. A Cole Camp net serve followed by a Saint ace gave St Paul's the 3rd set 25-23.
So on to the 4th set and more very competitive volleyball. Cole Camp gained some breathing room with a 13-7 lead midway. Kristin Carl with an ace and another Andrea kill brought a long rally to an end. Still the Saints were within 2 at 20-18 with serve. A couple of roof interference calls benefited the Lady Bluebirds and they finally won the 4th set 25-21 to complete a very intense game.
Had mentioned the Saints hitters earlier. Junior Shannon Vysna appears about 6 ft tall, very athletic, and had a bucket full of kills for the Saints.
Stats for Cole Camp.
Kills: Andrea 11, Dakota 5, Carl 5, Espey, Allison, Ogle and Vansel 3 each.
Digs: Raetz 17, Loganbill, Allison and Carl 11 each. Ogle 9.
Assists: Ogle 25
Aces: 11 as a team.
