Lint happens. Fires don’t have to. Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.

If you need to call 911 to report an emergency, but are unable to speak, it is not safe to speak, or your cell phone has poor service or a low battery impeding your ability to make a call, you can send a text to 911. The same compassionate, highly-trained telecommunicators who answer voice calls to 911 will respond to your text to connect you to the help you need.
• Enter the numbers “911” in the “To” field.
• Include your location and nature of the emergency.
• Send message - Answer all questions to the best of your ability and follow instructions.
• Use words only. The system does not accept photos, videos, emojis, pinned locations, etc.

National Home Fire Sprinkler Week is May 10-16, 2026!

According to Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition:
- Home fire sprinklers only spray when the temperature in the room rises quickly.
- The sprinkler above the fire is the only one that sprays.

The daily fire danger for 05/12/26 is “HIGH” - Wildfires are likely. Fires in heavy, continuous fuel such as mature grassland, w**d fields and forest litter, will be difficult to control under windy conditions. Control through direct attack may be difficult but possible and mop-up will be required. Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning and late evening hours.
