24 years ago today, lives were forever changed. Today is a day of remembrance. Today we remember the victims and the heroes that lost their lives on this day, but we also remember the families of the victims, the families of the responders, and especially the survivors, who still face the affects of this tragic day in history.

Today, we must remember.
And forever, we must never forget.

At approximately 7:09 AM, The Colebrook Fire Department was dispatched to a reported power line down with a resulting brush fire at the intersection of Old North Road and Losaw Road. Colebrook Car 12 was first on scene, and quickly requested mutual aid assistance from Riverton Volunteer Fire Department , Norfolk Vol. Fire Dept. , Winsted Fire Department, and Pleasant Valley Fire Department. Due to the high winds and flying embers, the fire jumped a house and began burning in a second location, approximately 500 feet of north of the first fire. Crews from CT DEEP also responded to assist with the overhaul.

A huge thank you to all involved for a quick stop and the protection of two residential structures! 🙌🏻🚒
