⚠️ Severe Weather Alert ⚠️

Folks, as you’ve likely heard — but just in case you haven’t — we’re under an increased risk of severe weather this evening. 🌧️🌪️

Please take a moment to confirm your safe room or storm shelter is ready and your emergency preparedness kit is fully stocked. 🏠🛡️

Safety Reminders:
• Stay far away from downed power lines ⚡
• Slow down and move over for emergency vehicles 🚨
• DO NOT take pictures or videos of debris while driving! 🚫📱

Your safety is our priority. Stay alert and stay safe! 🙏

A Slight to Enhanced Risk for Severe weather exists this evening & tonight as a line of thunderstorms is expected to develop ahead of an approaching cold front. All thunderstorms hazards will be possible with damaging winds and embedded tornadoes as the greatest threats as the line moves across Michigan. Large hail and flooding are also possible. Uncertainty: The scenario where the line of storms weaken as they enter southeast Michigan or the most intense activity tracks south of Michigan remains in play.

Happy Spring! Keep in mind while you’re taking care of all that yard work to check the Michigan DNR website to check the Burn Permit status for your county.

https://www.dnr.state.mi.us/burnpermits/

🟩= you are permitted to burn

🟫= no burning is permitted in that county

🟨= use the drop down box to select your county and check for restrictions. Example: open burning is allowed in all townships in Midland after 6pm.

Forecast models have shifted since last night, bringing more of this system toward our area and increasing the potential for ice accumulation. If travel is necessary, please use caution and stay safe. 🧊⛸️

If you come upon an accident: SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER. 🚒🚔

And please remember — recording or posting videos while driving past an accident is dangerous. Let responders do their jobs and keep everyone safe. 💁‍♂️
