With the snow melting and the rain we’re receiving we’re experiencing water over roads in a couple locations. Two roads have been closed so far. With the highest snow totals from north Pullman area to Rosalia and east to the Idaho boarder, we WILL see a lot more widespread flooding overnight and into tomorrow. Crews have been out plowing this morning and have transitioned to placing signs and barricades where water is causing unsafe conditions. Please use caution while driving tonight through tomorrow. If you’re unsure if you can make it or not turn around and take a different route.

UPDATE: All roads that were previously closed due to fallen trees or downed power lines are now open, with the exception of Tidwell rd. #1570. Tidwell should be opened in the next hour. It’s highly likely that Avista or Inland Power will need to close some roads again in order to reset new poles and transmission lines. When or how long those closures will be is unknown at this time. Again thank you for your patience!

Multiple roads in Whitman County are closed due to downed trees or power lines. Crews are diligently working to open these roads working with Avista and Inland Power. Please be safe in your travels as some of these power lines may still be energized. We are aware of some other trees and power poles that are leaning towards the road and could come down at any moment. Thank you for your patience, be safe!
