THE TOWN of COLFAX, myself & the CITY COUNCIL, would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported our AFTER THE BELL BACK TO SCHOOL BASH EVENT 📚🎒✂️🍎🚌✏️📔📙📓📘🏫🚸on last Saturday afternoon.

To all the families, students, volunteers, community partners, vendors, and everyone who helped make the event a success—we appreciate you! Your presence, support, and positive energy made the day truly special.

It was a blessing to see our community and those partners from the surrounding areas come together, celebrate our children, and send them back to school with smiles, encouragement, and excitement! 💚

Town of Colfax Utility Billing Update

The March 2026 utility bills have been completed, printed and are on scheduled to be mailed Friday, August 14, 2026 (today).

To avoid confusion for residents, the bill date reflects April 1, 2026, while the bill clearly states:

‼️“This bill is for billing period of March 2026. We appreciate your patience!”‼️

The due date for the March 2026 bill is August 25, 2026.

‼️Understanding Estimated Usage‼️

Due to the delay in obtaining actual meter readings, some utility bills were calculated using an estimated consumption amount. The estimation process was based on each customer’s individual average consumption over the previous 12 months.

Because household usage can vary based on factors such as outdoor temperatures, weather conditions, and individual household usage habits, some accounts may have been estimated higher or lower than their actual consumption.

Once actual meter readings are obtained, the Town will reconcile the estimated usage with the actual reading:

* If a customer was overestimated, the appropriate consumption will be credited back to the account.
* If a customer was underestimated, the account will be adjusted to reflect the actual consumption.

The Town understands that residents have questions and concerns regarding the billing process and appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to bring utility billing current.

The next utility bill will include the necessary catch-up billing and is expected to reflect an August 2026 billing date.

We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and understanding of the citizens of Colfax as we continue working to improve the Town’s utility billing process and provide accurate and transparent information to our residents.
