Help me!! I broke my chain and was found running loose on East Cherry Street. I’m an old male really wanting to get home to my family. A nice police officer has me at the department, but will take me to the ARL in Des Moines if not claimed by 8 pm tonight. We have rescheduled our Shop With a Cop! Thank you to everyone who has supported this program throughout the years.

The Colfax Shop with a Cop was postponed due to winter weather, but we are excited to report a new date has been secured for January 10th!
Christmas might arrive a little late for these deserving kiddos, but it will arrive!
We look forward to seeing everyone!

Thank you to all in our community who donate to our Shop with a Cop program. And a special Big thanks to Mr. Williams and his team at Gregg Young Auto in Newton for their generosity and support of our community. Unfortunately our Shop with a Cop was postponed this morning due to weather but we will put this to good use for our community in January when we reschedule the event.

The beautiful weather has turned ugly on us. Due to expected heavy snowfall tonight into tomorrow, the snow ordinance is in effect and all vehicles will need to be cleared from the streets once accumulating snow reaches a depth of 1”. Failure to move your vehicles from public streets may result in a citation or towing of your vehicle. Thank you for your cooperation!

Ride Sober or Get Pulled Over is a national high-visibility enforcement campaign that focuses specifically on the consequences of drunk riding while urging riders to get a safe, sober ride home. Law Enforcement from Colfax Police Department and other agencies across the state will be out in full force during this time to keep our roads safe. Dont become a statistic.

The food truck at Wednesday's (July 30) Downtown Colfax Farmers Market is Rebel Chick BBQ! This will be their first time in Colfax so it will be a great night to try something new!

**Just a reminder that next week's Farmers Market will be on Tuesday, August 5 night along with Colfax Police Department's National Night Out event! The Colfax PD will have food, a bounce, house, a band, and more at Mineral Springs Park from 5PM-7PM on August 5!**

Colfax Police Department will be hosting their annual National Night Out community engagement event August 5 from 5-7pm. The event is held at Mineral Springs Park and will include food, bounce house for kids, band for the adults as well. Jasper County EMA and Crisis K9’s of the Midlands will be there. Colfax Farmers Market will be moving their event to coincide with ours so that people will have that opportunity as well.
