Effective immediately, all Sacramento County Law Enforcement and Fire agencies are equipped to receive and respond to mobile text messages to 911. All phones or devices must include a text or data plan, be text capable, and have their location services enabled to send a text message to 911.

Some helpful tips when using Text to 911 service include:

✔️ Always provide the exact location of the emergency
✔️ Don’t use abbreviations, emojis, or slang
✔️ Texts can only be received in English at this time – additional languages will be available in the future
✔️ No group texting

REMEMBER ‼️

✔️ Only call 911 in the event of an emergency and only text 911 when calling is absolutely NOT an option
✔️ “Call if you can – text if you can't!”

Here are the questions that Auburn Journal asked with my answers. I hope this helps you get a better understanding of who I am. Thank you

Have you opposed something that the Colfax City Council has done? If so what was it and why did you oppose it?

I am a opposed to the Colfax City Councils stance on the Recreational Ma*****na applicants. The city council decided to end the application process after already excepting the application fee from multiple applicants. The halting of the process resulted in thousands of tax payer dollars to be wasted on non progressive business. All due to misguided, and misleading information. Resulting in a uneducated vote to stop the process.

What are the top 3 issues facing the City Council?

1. The Excessive Sewer Charges.
2. Colfax City Road Maintenance.
3. Miss Use Of The City Funds On Non-Progressive Issues.

What would your first priority be if you are elected to the City Council and why?

My first priority would to be to look into the finances and see where our money is going. I would want to recreate a budget that would eliminate misuse of funds and to put money back into our community with doing things like: paving city and residential streets, getting a youth program up and running and investigate why small businesses are not staying open in Colfax.

Why should Colfax residents vote for you?

I believe Colfax residents should vote for me because my family and I are committed to Colfax and making this city a better place. I am the fourth generation here and we have been involved in the community for years. I want make the necessary changes so that Colfax can thrive again and be the town once loved by so many. I want to bring small businesses back and bring back revenue so that we can have lower sewer fees and more youth focused activities.

As most of you know My name is Mitchel Ryan Harrison the first! I am running for Colfax City Council because I feel that working with the community I can help make positive changes to our town. He belonged and served on the Colfax Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Colfax Boy Scouts troop 25 and Colfax area Red Cross and also was part of the Masons Lodge in Colfax. He also used to set off the fireworks on the the 4th of July in Colfax. My Great Grandfather George Bernard whose plaque is up at the Colfax Ballpark was a huge supporter of Colfax High school Baseball and the Fireballs Baseball Team. My Grandfather David E. Sweat who worked for the Placer County Water Agency was a member of the Masons here in Colfax and Odd Fellows. My Grandma Mickey Bernard Harrison worked at Suburban Propane here in Colfax and was part of Soroptimist of Colfax, my aunt Melodie Harrison is an active member now as well.My Grandma Donna Randall Sweat worked for Bank of America here in Colfax and was the first graduating class out of Colfax High School. My Grandpa Herb Harrison owned his own business called Harrison Sprinklers and also owned the old Colfax Record Building. My mother and father Tim and Debbie Harrison graduated from Colfax High School and worked for Toms Sierra Tire (now Plaza) and Heart Federal (Which is now US Bank). My mother was part of Soroptomist International of Colfax and Colfax Chamber of Commerce. She is also a past Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters in Colfax. My step father Tony Mitchell serves on the Masons of Colfax. My sister Andrea Harrison is a member of Colfax Elementary Association of Parents and Teachers and also Colfax Green Machine. I come from a family who has always been a part of the community here and who loves Colfax. I will work hard and strive for our community and make the positive changes that are needed. As you see I am a great candidate for City Council; Please vote for me Mitchel Ryan Harrison an old school soul with a new school vision.
