College Park Seniors Advisory Committee AND WISEConnect Present: Help With Your Digital Devices

Volunteers from WISEConnect will provide help with your digital devices, from smartphones to iPads and laptops. Bring your devices and your questions. This is an opportunity to download apps and set up accounts for ride share providers like Uber and Lyft or for parking lot payment systems.

The first District 4 2026 Quality-of-Life Work Group Meeting will take place on September 2 from 7:00–8:00 p.m. at the College Park Woods Clubhouse.

Building on recent focus groups and the citywide survey, residents will now work together to develop solutions to issues affecting our community. Participants can join one of five committees focused on topics such as public safety, property maintenance, and more.

Today, we welcomed 24 German Fulbright students to City Hall as part of a four-week leadership development program through the University of Maryland’s Office of International Affairs.

The students, many of whom are studying political science, education, and global studies, visited to learn more about local government and what makes the College Park community unique. We enjoyed sharing more about our City and connecting with the next generation of global leaders!

Hoy, recibimos en el Ayuntamiento a 24 estudiantes alemanes del programa Fulbright, como parte de un programa de desarrollo de liderazgo de cuatro semanas organizado por la Oficina de Asuntos Internacionales de la Universidad de Maryland.

🧡 For generations, Duvall Field has been a second home to College Park families. Parents ran the lights, kids played Little League, and neighbors gathered for softball games and summer concerts.

Thank you to everyone who shared their Duvall Field memories with us. Your stories are what make this place special!

Today, Duvall Field has been rebuilt for the next generation. The renovated park creates a space where neighbors can gather, kids can play, and our community can keep making memories together. Watch back on the celebration of its reopening!

College Park adults, get your costumes ready! The City of College Park is bringing back Rave at the Grave on Friday, October 23rd from 6-9 PM at Duvall Field (9119 Rhode Island Avenue).

Grown-ups deserve a spooky night out too, so join us for festivities such as a costume contest, food truck & beer, and live music from Uncle Jessie!

This is a FREE event, but registration and a costume are required for entry. All attendees must be 21+ (no exceptions).

EDIT 8/26: Due to additional excavation and repairs needed, emergency gas work at the intersection of University Boulevard and Rhode Island Avenue will continue until midnight. As a result, southbound Rhode Island Avenue will remain closed between University Boulevard and Greenbelt Road. Metrobus Route M42 will detour via Cherokee Street and Baltimore Avenue. Expect lane closures and major delays throughout the remainder of the day.

TRAFFIC NOTICE:
Washington Gas crews are repairing a gas leak at the intersection of University Boulevard and Rhode Island Avenue. As a result, southbound Rhode Island Avenue is closed between University Boulevard and Greenbelt Road. Expect major delays due to additional lane closures at the intersection. Work is expected to conclude by 10:00pm tonight.

Additionally, the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail is temporarily closed between Amherst Road and Guilford Road for asphalt repairs. The City’s contractor is addressing trip hazards and improving the surface and drainage on the trail.
