This week, the Maryland State Police College Park and Forestville Barracks proudly recognizes and celebrates our dedicated emergency dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Our dispatchers are the first point of contact in times of crisis — the calm, steady voices on the other end of the line when seconds matter most. They are the unseen heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ensuring our troopers and community members receive the help they need.

From answering 911 calls to coordinating emergency responses, our emergency dispatchers play a vital role in keeping Prince George’s County safe. Their professionalism, composure, and dedication often go unrecognized, but their impact is immeasurable.

To our dispatchers — thank you. Thank you for being the lifeline between our community and the help they need. Thank you for the long hours, the missed holidays, and your unwavering commitment to serving others.

On 2/18/2026, Trooper Hubbard had the opportunity to give back to the youth in the Maryland State Police's Explorer program. He helped instruct and demonstrate a Police De-Escalation and Defensive tactics event for the Maryland State Police Explorer program.

Trooper Hubbard of the Maryland State Police College Park barrack in Prince George's County Maryland, started his interest in law enforcement with the Maryland State Police's Explorer program as a Explorer. He followed through from Explorer, to Cadet, to State Trooper. He now serves the citizens of Prince George's County as a State Trooper conducting patrol operations, and give back by helping with the Maryland State Police Explorer program regularly.

A dog was found in the area of I-495 and Annapolis Road and is currently being cared for at the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack.

If you believe this may be your dog, proof of ownership is required to reclaim.

On October 31, 2025, Troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park and Forestville Barracks participated in the “Meet and Greet with Halloween Treats” event. 🎃

Community members came out dressed in their best Halloween costumes to meet and interact with our personnel. Despite the windy conditions, over 200 patrons joined us for an evening filled with sweet treats, fun, and smiles!

We would like to thank everyone who came out to support the event and extend our appreciation to those who helped make it possible! 👏

Trooper Bennett from the Prince Frederick Barracks, PCO.Paris from the COLLEGE PARK/Forestvill Barracks & Trooper 7 (southern Maryland hanger) attended open house, at Saint Leonard Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. With a special guest from their mascot Sparky. Teaming up with Calvert County sheriffs department and many other Calvert county departments. Members of the community and other participants enjoyed, learned, and had fun with lots inner County works. Our MSP team had a few participants interested in joining the Maryland State police.
