We often hear “we aren’t doing little league because we started travel ball”. Travel ball and Little League don’t have to be either/or – they can make each other better.
Travel ball gives players the opportunity to compete against high-level competition and continue developing skills. There is no denying the value it brings.
Little League offers something valuable and different, that can’t always be found in Travel ball.
Little league is where kids play with their classmates, neighbors, and friends. It’s where they wear the name of their hometown across their chest. It’s where younger players look up to the older kids, and where lifelong friendships and memories are made.
Little league provides a chance to compete for a District Championship, a State Championship, and even a trip to the World Series.
When players leave little league for travel ball, our league loses more than just good athletes. Younger players lose role models, friends lose teammates and the community loses a little bit of what makes Little League so special.
The best players can help raise the level of play in Little League while continuing to grow through travel ball. They shouldn’t compete with each other- they should complement each other.
Play Little League. Play Travel Ball. Support Both. Grow in Both. Make Memories in Both.
