Today, we proudly celebrate the 251st Anniversary of the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps.

Since 1775, Army chaplains have faithfully served Soldiers and their families by providing spiritual care, moral leadership, and compassionate support in times of peace, conflict, and crisis. Their unwavering commitment strengthens the force while honoring the diverse faiths and beliefs of those they serve.

The Texas A&M System Office of Veteran and Military Services joins the nation in recognizing the dedication, courage, and selfless service of past, present, and future Army chaplains. Thank you for answering the call to serve those who serve.

On June 23, 1939, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established. During the ensuing 87 years, Auxiliary members have dedicated their time, expertise, and service to supporting the Coast Guard's missions of recreational boating safety, public education, vessel examinations, environmental stewardship, and operational support. We at the Texas A&M University System Office of Veteran & Military Services extend our gratitude to the thousands of volunteers who continue to serve their communities and strengthen maritime safety across our nation. Your commitment, professionalism, and selfless service embody the finest traditions of volunteerism and public service.

Today we celebrate the 251st Birthday of the United States Army. Since 1775, Soldiers have answered the call to serve our nation with courage, commitment, and selfless dedication.

On this Army Birthday, we honor all who have worn the uniform and thank them for their service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy. Happy Birthday, Army!

On the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we pause to remember the service members who took part in the Normandy invasion and the immense sacrifices made in pursuit of freedom. Their courage changed the course of history and serves as a lasting reminder of the cost of liberty. We honor their legacy and the generations of veterans who have followed in their footsteps.

Charles Gardner has been named the recipient of the 2026 Student Veteran Excellence Award, an annual honor recognizing exemplary leadership, service and advocacy on behalf of military-connected students across the A&M System.
