Texas A&M Forest Service provides eligible fire departments with programs designed to enhance their ability to protect the public and fire service personnel from fire and related hazards. The Capacity Building Department offers programs that benefit Texas. Fire departments can discover and achieve their potential. Citizens are better served by well trained and equipped fire department personnel. I

n the case of TFS, we develop a long list of cooperators in our fire service mission to protect life and property. We encourage fire departments to take advantage of the Capacity Building Programs for several reasons, there is a continuing need to recruit and develop talented firefighters to protect life and property, ensure that the Texas Fire Service can meet its professional, technical, and administrative needs, and achieve a quality and diverse fire service. Participation in the Capacity Building Programs can help fire departments meet these needs.

Fairfield VFD recently filled a gap in their fleet with this new truck! Engineer Operator Andrew Weitner stated that this truck will serve as a water supply as well as for pump and roll capabilities. Having this larger water supply will reduce response time, greatly improving their department's capabilities. At the time of inspection, the truck had already been used on grass, structural, and car fires. We're glad to see it already helping Fairfield VFD serve their community!
