Sgt. Cory McNeal is in Dallas, Texas this week attending the annual PLECET Conference. PLECET stands for Professionalizing Law Enforcement-Community Engagement Training.

PLECET brings together thousands of law enforcement and public safety professionals from across the country for several days of training focused on community-centered policing, proactive engagement, effective communication, and managing community outreach programs.

The conference also includes sessions with U.S. Department of Justice officials and national law enforcement leaders, giving agencies like ours the opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in public safety.

For the Collegedale Police Department, this type of training matters. Public Information Officers play a critical role in how we communicate with our citizens, share important information, answer questions, and build trust through transparency.

We are proud of the work Sgt. McNeal and our PIO team continue to do in support of Chief Sapp’s vision for clear, professional, and transparent communication with the community we serve.

Better training. Stronger communication. Greater public trust.
