Congratulations to Rhonda Moore who is KenCrest Lifesharing Provider of the year! 🎉 This is a newly created award which we are thrilled about and look forward to celebrating annually!

Each year, Community Champions has honored a Lifesharing Provider. These are special folks who decide to open their homes and hearts to a person who is looking for a supportive family environment as an alternative to other community living options.

We would like to announce that Rhonda Moore has been named the KenCrest Lifesharing Provider of the Year, a new award honoring Lifesharing Providers and their special place within the KenCrest Family. Rhonda has known Tom, the individual who lives with Rhonda, for over 20 years. She has a power to inspire connection and kinship, always energetic and positive.

Tom can be frustrated when his routine changes, which we all know was a big challenge for many of us during the last year. Rhonda always goes the extra mile to make sure Tom understands why these changes are necessary and how they can cope with them together. For example, Tom likes to get his haircut at a barbershop, and Rhonda has asked the stylists to let her know when the shop is empty, so he can go in safely.

She always puts Tom first, setting a great example for the entire team. In making Tom a priority, she also ensures he has the opportunity for social interactions and expanding his social network.

Way to go Sean!

Sean came into Lifesharing during his senior year of high school. Now, he works at Insomnia Cookies located in the heart of Conshohocken, PA as a baker, cashier, and all around team player.

Sean’s journey began pre-COVID after many discussions about what he would love to do after graduating high school. Sean has aspirations of becoming a baker and eventually owning his own business.

When COVID arrived, the team continued to plan diligently and brainstorm ways they could still provide support to Sean and help him achieve his goal of having a job in a bakery. The team initiated virtual job coaching services to assist with the process of identifying, applying, and going through the interview process. With the support of his job coach, Tyler, Sean successfully identified Insomnia Cookies and took the opportunity by storm.

On October 13th, 2020, Sean started his first day on the team at Insomnia. He carries pride with him every day that he goes into work and brings smiles to his co-workers and customers. Sean started working in the kitchen, learning about prep, ingredients, techniques, and also using his skills obtained at his previous employment opportunity.

During his transition from job search and active employment, Sean’s on-site job coach, Allen, has been of support to him with providing guidance if needed. Sean will proudly tell you that he bakes and works the cash register, while ensuring all CDC guidelines are followed while providing excellent customer service.
