Lots going on at Explorer Post 0955! Tonight CPD Officer Lucas gave a presentation on Driving Under the Influence (DUI), and demonstrated Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST). The Explorers were taught the dangers of drunk driving, the effects of narcotics and pharmaceuticals on the Central Nervous System as well as learned how police test drivers suspected of DUI.

🚨 Training for the Unexpected! 🚨

Today, our Explorer Post had the opportunity to join the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training.

Our Explorers learned and practiced basic trauma care and were introduced to the Avoid, Deny, Defend response model—giving them valuable skills and knowledge that can make a difference in an emergency.

The training continued at the SCSO Tactical Training Facility, where our Explorers put what they learned into practice through realistic, scenario-based exercises. These scenarios challenged them to think quickly, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions under pressure.

A huge thank you to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and their Explorer Post for inviting us and providing such an outstanding training opportunity! We’re proud of our Explorers for stepping up, learning, and continuing to prepare themselves to serve their community.

The Post had a fantastic time at the 2026 National Night Out! We were excited to spend the evening with our community, meet so many wonderful people, and share the event alongside everyone’s favorite crime-fighting mascot, Scruff McGruff.

Thank you to everyone who invited us in, said hello, and helped make the night such a success. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

What a day! We extend our gratitude to everyone who shared our posts and to those who participated in the car wash by bringing their vehicles. Special appreciation is extended to O'Reillys for their sponsorship of this event, as well as to our partners at the Collierville Citizens Police Association. The revenue generated from events like these enables us to fund our annual competition, uniforms, equipment, and other essential needs.
For those who were unable to attend, rest assured that additional car washes are planned for this summer.
