Please take a minute and familiarize yourself with Pennsylvania's Move Over Law. It requires drivers approaching an emergency response area to merge into a lane farther away from the response area. If you cannot SAFELY merge, "pass the emergency response area at a speed of no more than 20 miles per hour less than the posted speed limit and reasonable for safely passing."
** An emergency response area is where an emergency vehicle has its lights flashing, or where road crews or emergency responders have lighted flares, posted signs, or try to warn travelers.**

With these high temperatures, lets take a minute and familiarize each other with HEATSTROKE.
No parent ever thinks they will forget their child in the car, but even a great parent can forget a sleeping child in the back seat. Many of these tragic events are associated with a change in the parents’ daily routine. It can happen to anyone.
• In 52.6% of cases, the child was forgotten by the caregiver.
• In 25.9% of cases, children got into the vehicles on their own.
• The children most at-risk are those younger than one-year of age, who are too young to alert others for help, making up 31% of heatstroke deaths.
Share this information with friends and family and help prevent tragedies within their families.

With the 4th of July weekend approaching we want to remind everyone of Act 43 of 2017(Fireworks Law) Special attention to prohibition (b5)
Section 2404-Use of consumer fireworks
(a) Conditions.--A person who is at least 18 years of age and meets the requirements of
this article may purchase, possess and use consumer fireworks.
(b) Prohibitions.--A person may not intentionally ignite or discharge:
(1) Consumer fireworks on public or private property without the express permission
of the owner.
(2) Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices within, or throw consumer fireworks or
sparkling devices from, a motor vehicle or building.
(3) Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices into or at a motor vehicle or building or
at another person.
(4) Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices while the person is under the influence
of alcohol, a controlled substance or another drug.
(5) Consumer fireworks within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
"Occupied structure." A structure, vehicle or place adapted for overnight accommodation of persons or for conducting business whether or not a person is actually
present.
With that being said there is no place in the Borough to legally set off consumer grade fireworks. Section 2414 states a person using consumer fireworks in violation of the provisions of this article commits a summary offense and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100.
Please, be careful and enjoy!

Fireworks are dangerous, don't be like Ralphie!
